In a recent internal technical challenge, I was forced to cope with time series data. We have a list of values over a period of time. Since we wanted to make it as bullet proof as possible, we opted to use the TIMESTAMP datatype for the table in our Oracle Database. This enables us to use the Partitioning Option, the TIMESTAMP WITH TIME ZONE datatype is not implemented in Partitioning.
