I think my gripe is more, the movie qua the movie, i’m uncomfortable with positioning corporations as hapless buffoons and not knowing bad actors. That’s my read of the ending at least, i had a really fun theater experience for the most part!

You should absolutely take creative liberties with an adaptation but you can’t then thoughtlessly import elements from one story to another. Not to mention Umbrella’s role as the cause of the conflict is deliberately dismissed!!
