More angles. This model is missing many features and details, as it was mostly an excuse to teach myself the function and design principles of Baker-type valve gear.

Those rocket motors have fully modeled internal components too; it gets so much worse. CAD had been damaging to my psyche

Hello. I'm a 3D sculptor and I've been working on presentation lately for a set of models I'm planning on releasing. Straight to business: A Leonidas Holdings Smartgunner with a stripped-down machine gun and custom camera rig strikes a pose in ARCO-5's habitation deck shortly before deployment.

it is a medium by which to see directly through things, like a malleable window. The texture is like children's play sand; it is incredibly warm to the touch, requiring gloves to handle. It's conceptually beautiful, but visually, only as beautiful as whatever is directly behind what it is applied to

But truly, above all other justifications, I like steam engines, and the concept of them operating three hundred years from now on the moon is delightful to me.

Peary does use true electric trains (note overhead wires), but is terribly paranoid of a situation in which the power stations are sabotaged or destroyed, and nothing can move throughout the chambers. Steam locomotives can leverage the already plentiful fuel, and operate independently. from the grid

A student from a nearby school watches the thundering engines fly past on her bicycle. Bicycles are an essential means of transportation for individuals in Peary. While excellent on relatively flat terrain, they struggle with loose unpaved climbs in the low lunar gravity.

North Peary, the "Anthill Kingdom", filters polar ice melt through the ceilings of its enormous, terraformed lava tube chambers, falling as gentle rain. Two steam locomotives lashed to a long train of goods fly past; they are fueled by charcoal from Peary's vast, grown forests.
