Still struggling pretty rough this week. I don't know why things sank so low. I have been doing a lot of personal heavy lifting, and I continue to maintain my routine, including things I've kept private. The seasons changing affect me. I feel profoundly lonesome. I'll keep trying, of course.

Music practice has been really fun. I've been working on a melody the past weekish, and it's coming together. I want to add more movement, but the parts that fit together make a kind of haunting cathedral-style vibe (which is what I want), like a Victorian-era last boss battle.

Duolingo is so frustrating. It teaches vowels one way, then the spoken examples have different pronunciations, which I naturally try to emulate. They don't explain why (devoiced vowels) or set expectations. The word "hito" sounds like 'shto'. "Kutsu" is a problem for me too, apparently. Grr.

Spent about 40 minutes writing tonight. I opened up a blank document and started writing whatever came to mind; it turned into a story about a coyote lying beside an old canyon river thinned by time, each the other's mirror. It's thoughtful and cute, but I swear I'm going to make it horny.
