I've also experimented with other programs (sometimes tablets came with a free trial, or I got a thing on sale, etc.) but this list is the main stuff I used over the years! I actually think I used Paint.Net / Gimp during the "first tablet!" period, but I've used FireAlpaca more since then.

My digital art program journey - MS Paint - Gimp / FireAlpaca (first time with tablet!) - old free version of Photoshop - PaintTool Sai - Manga Studio EX - Photoshop Suite (required in art college) - Clip Studio Paint EX/PRO (current!) Honestly? I never looked back after getting Manga Studio/CSP.

I'm SO excited that the @worldofthedaszine.bsky.social project is almost ready to share with everyone!~ The whole book is fantastic! I'm still amazed I got to be one of the contributors. This letter is one of the pieces I wrote: "Found on a desk among Morrigan’s many notes and correspondences..."

A letter written on textured paper that reads:

‘Tis wild, isn’t it? How fast things can change…

I still remember how drear and gloamy the Crossroads looked when I was a child, filled with heavy fog and heavier silence. Now, it feels like spring has come along and stirred the whole place out of the deep hibernation it was in. The fog has lifted and been replaced with splashes of color and brilliance I’ve never seen whilst awake—except in the finest Serault glass, when the light streams though it just so.

Here, now, the whole sky could be cut from the finest wares that the Glassworks ever made. I swear! When the elves said they could see all the colors in the Crossroads, I always wished I could see as they did—but today, I think, perhaps, I caught a glimpse of their view.

I should ask Strife and Irelin about it! Do things look different to them, too? Or am I just sensitive to the surges of strange, potent magic that have been happening more frequently of late…?

‘Tis marvelous to witness! The way water often spirals skyward here, sometimes taking fish to swim amongst the clouds, or how the earth can be shaped into stairs and bridges in a matter of seconds. It certainly seems to take much less time to traverse the world of late.

Is that the work of the Caretaker spirits? I have so many questions for them, too, but they never seem to give me a straight answer. (Reminds me of someone else I know, actually...)

By the way, I tracked down what you were looking for! I will bring it back to the Veil Jumpers’ camp as soon as I finish exploring these ruins. ‘Twould be a shame to rush and miss some crucial detail.

See you soon,
“K”

QTP with your brown/orange/warm art! 💛🧡🤎❤️ #art

Drawn in the "Dragon Age Tarot" style. A young, dark-haired man with amber-gold eyes and tan skin (Kieran) is prominently featured in the foreground, brandishing a short sword in his right hand while a blazing mage orb (Urthemiel's Ash) hovers near his left hand. He wears a mulberry-colored robe in a Tevinter style over a grey undershirt with black leather gloves. A purple sash is tied around his waist, and a matching purple cloak billows out behind him. There are flowing white lines surrounding him that blend into the borders of the card, as if the Veil is being manipulated. Behind him, there is pale grey fog beneath a bright orange sky. A golden tower (shaped like the Rook chesspiece) seems to float directly over his head. He also wears some ash-grey paint around his eyes, and has a little section of his neck-length hair braided and tucked behind one of his very slightly pointed ears.

Two smiling kids sit in a large tree surrounded by Pokemon: a shiny golden Vulpix has her paws resting on the younger sibling's leg while the older boy eats a rice ball. On the branch above them, a Rowlet and HootHoot are roosting. The whole image is bathed in the warm-colored late-afternoon light of "golden hour."

The burn out struggle is HARD. I feel like I can only focus on a handful of things without dropping some, and I've always had trouble remembering to post stuff on socials. But I want to be able to do one of those 'a year of artworks' posts in December this year.

I really want to get better at environmental art, but gosh it is hard to break out of comfort zones. (Especially since I'm still recovering from burn-out.) I'm trying to take it one step at a time by making myself draw actual backgrounds for my character-centric arts. Baby steps!

A messy WIP sketch. Features Aril (a bosmer OC) and Farkas snuggling up under a tree by a waterfall pool. Aril is trying to read a book, and there's a picnic basket with some apples and a bottle of wine sitting beside the two Companions.

A WIP sketch of two characters sitting on a rooftop. A foggy sea stretches into the distance behind them.

4: my guilty pleasure games are… Golden Sun: Dark Dawn, Fire Emblem: Fates, and Dragon Age 2. All of them are games that were considered “worse” than the games that game before them, and in SOME ways I agree. But I still enjoyed all three of them!

000

Knight @dawnsknight.bsky.social · 29/11/2024

3: I think the most underrated game I've played is Radiant Historia (Perfect Chronology). I adore a good time travel plot device and it has one of my favorite ways of handling parallel timelines EVER! (As I write this I am also remembering how much I love Stocke as a protagonist.) It's a great game!

020

Knight @dawnsknight.bsky.social · 28/11/2024

2: my favorite characters (no, I can't pick JUST ONE) are Riku from Kingdom Hearts, Felix from Golden Sun, Zevran and Fenris from Dragon Age, Kaeya from Genshin Impact, and Link from Legend of Zelda (OoT). If I had to pick ONE all-time favorite, though, I would probably pick Riku.

010

Knight @dawnsknight.bsky.social · 28/11/2024

(As a small addendum, the first game I CHOSE for myself was Pokemon Stadium, which was shortly followed by Pokemon Yellow! I was 5-6 when I got those.)

000

Knight @dawnsknight.bsky.social · 28/11/2024

1: my very first video games were hand-me-downs from a cousin who gave me his old NES when he got a new xbox. I was only 3, so I could BARELY read at the time. The ones that left an impression were the OG Legend of Zelda, Super Mario 3, Millipede, Excitebike, and Duck Hunt.
