I've been working on my pixel art skills this past month while working here and there on Hollows Academy, but for now, please enjoy these sprites I made of Hollows Academy's main protagonist, Jeanne!

For today's #screenshotsaturday, I bring you a little thing I made comparing an old sprite and a new adjusted sprite I made that was better! I added a couple of tips on what good book shapes are for stuff like this and listed the improvements I made! #gamedev #pixelart

battle system to get everything in there and tested! I think this will be one of the most complex systems in Hollows Academy, but I'm excited to continue working on it, and it makes me happy knowing I am doing something I love!

For this week's #screenshotsaturday, I bring you more animations for Hollows Academy! This week, we've got Kylie and Jeanne's idle animations for battling! I'm really happy with how these are turning out and I'm definitely making good use of Aseprite! Now to focus on some programming for the-

Working on some sprite art for Hollows Academy! We've got two battle sprites (which I plan on animating in the near future), as well as a portrait that is planned to be used with some of the new UI for the inventory that I'm working on behind the scenes. I'm enjoying learning to make pixel art too!

📜 Quest Log Update! A brand-new Quests system is being added! You can keep track of active quests, side quests and their descriptions directly from the new Quests tab in the inventory menu. Now your quest information is just a button press away. ✨ #gamedev #indiedev #godotengine

Another very minor update to my game, we now have a light that illuminates around the player at night (and eventually caves and other dark areas too!). It has a bit of a flicker to it as well to make it seem more like a lantern light.

TW: Short White Flashing Screen Minor thing for today, added in a better transition animation for transitioning from the overworld into battle. Wasn't too hard with a godot shader, though I had little experience with godot's shaders beforehand, but I got it all figured out!

What's new in the world of Magical Girl Saga? Well... a whole new dialogue system! I rewrote the ENTIRE dialogue system I had and created something that would allow for branching dialogue and the new system works flawlessly after 3 days of work! #gamedev #indiegamedev #godot

Hello everyone! I'm back! And.... I've got a new but maybe minor? (if you can call it that lol) update to Magical Girl Saga! I've refactored my ENTIRE dialogue system! So what does this mean? It means that now, the character AND the player speak to each other instead of just the character speaking!

Another minor update to my game, this time, there's text that tells you what item you've used and what it does when you use it, followed by the inventory reopening back to the last inventory the user was using when the dialogue is dismissed. #gamedev #indiegamedev #godot #screenshotsaturday

Some concept sketches of the main character in my game, Jeanne and her companion and one of the enrollable party members, Kylie. I've got some new sprites in progress based on these sketches, so I hope I'll be able to show those off soon! #gamedev #indiegamedev

Minor update to my game, we've got the ability to use items on all characters in the player's party as well as assign weapons to all characters in the player's party. Now to just work on adding text that tells you what item you've just used. #gamedev #indiegamedev #godot

Speaking of new website updates I've been working on that I mentioned in my thread, I've got my bluesky feed to show up on the main page of my website, so now when you visit my website, you're greeted with a video from my YouTube channel as well as a scrollable container with my bluesky feed!

Not neccessarily a screenshot Saturday, but my sprite artist, my concept artist and I are all working out a new design for Magical Girl Saga's main player character, Jeanne. We have a good start so far and my sprite artist is working on a sprite based on the new design.

Finishing up the last of the minor bug fixes in the weapon equipment system, just need to fix one small bug with weapon unequipping (not shown in the clip but essentially is just the party members' weapon doesn't unequip properly) and the weapon equipment system for my game will be (mostly) finished

Minor progress today for #screenshotsaturday: Finally fixed the cursor so that it properly highlights the currently hovered over character. Now to move on to debugging the weapons inventory system and we should be all set on that! #godotengine #gamedev #madeingodot

Minor progress: Added in character icons on the corner of each currently equipped weapon slot so you can now tell which character has the weapon equipped, even if they aren't in the player's current party. Now to fix the bug I created with the cursor lol #gamedev #GodotEngine

Today's progress: Weapons are now reassignable and can be equipped uniquely to a character (meaning only one character at a time can have a single weapon). Now I can add in other weapons and everything will work flawlessly. #gamedev #GodotEngine

Recent progress on my game, Magical Girl Saga (working title), I got equipping weapons to work just fine, just needs to be tweaked a bit more before it's seamless for all members of the player's party. #godot #gamedev #jrpg
