Yes I completely agree, it's about how we interpret the words and communicate this with the coachee. It's so important to have this clarity and also difficult to define this succinctly in a graphic.

I love this! Although, slightly uncomfortable about the no 'distractions'. For a neurodiverse brain like mine, fidgeting in some way- usually playing solitaire in online meetings and moving in person, helps me to listen more deeply and for longer.

Something we do really, really well at Mucky Boots is Slow Pedagogy. It just feels right for the children and staff. There's nothing quite like knowing about flow state, experiencing it yourself and seeing it in the children. It's such a powerful vehicle for learning and wellbeing.

We've valued data collection and rigorous tracking over actual learning for two generations now, stopped teaching the teachers about child development and replaced critical thinking and pedagogy with initiatives and flashy resources which have been doing the thinking for us...

And then the never ending benchmarks into the long list of expectations we have of teachers and schools. CfE in it's early days was gold. But in feeding the anxiety for more and more structure we have continued to compound the problem. Teachers have been disempowered and stripped of confidence.

A huge chunk of current teachers and leaders grew up and were taught in the culture of education as a preparation for work rather than for inspiring and facilitating a drive and passion to learn. We also stripped lots of autonomy from teachers when we introduced the Es and Os 1/2
