Thanks for your kind words, I’m sure your shots are at least as good 😊

Might have been on roll (every pun intended) on that day. From a roll of 12 I've got 11 that I've classed as keepers 🙂 I think the film choice was spot on for the lighting conditions, must shoot more film!

Shame that no follow up albums even remotely touched the first album - a cover of The Last Chance Texaco by Christine Collister is worth seeking out - very underrated vocalist

#My9Albums Completely subject to change and surprisingly hard to do, but it had to include some standout artists:- Robert Plant, Beth Hart, Gary Moore, Stevie Nicks, Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones, John Bonham, Joe Bonamassa, Ian Paice, Ritchie Blackmore, David Coverdale (blues mode not MTV mode)

Just about all Fuji glass is slept on, they made some fantastic lenses (and still do)

110

David Yeoman @davidyeoman.bsky.social · 04/10/2026

Only two companies in UK (Cameratiks and Not Quite North), can send it to Germany - Weiss Fototechnik bought all the Makina spares and will also service) Focusing with dial is ok, it’s just moving the lens control arms, quite easy to line up rangefinder patch (which now cleaned is quite bright)

David Yeoman @davidyeoman.bsky.social · 04/10/2026

It is indeed - (though my perious 100mm on the Fuji GM670 wasn't too shabby!) It was quite a risk buying the Makina, but I budgeted for a full service (glad I did), and I think now its going to work out fine. Got some big trips planned for next year and having a portable 6x7 is just 🤩

David Yeoman @davidyeoman.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

Are you going to order them by name, author, publisher, type, size or chronologically My recommendation is to order them by spine colour, should bring some spots of colour into your monochrome world 🤣

The issue (before @stigofthedump.bsky.social asks) was that if you extract the lens slowly like the shandy drinking southerner that I am, it appears to lock, but not quite at infinity. If you are little more firm, it locks into place at infinity (which is where Cameratiks had calibrated it!!!)

110

David Yeoman @davidyeoman.bsky.social · 02/10/2026

At last, been having some focus issues with the Makina 670, but now I've calibrated my eyes properly, I'm pleased to say that all is well 🙂 Dungeness Beach 📷 Plaubel Makina 670 🎞️ Kodak Portra 160 💻 Lab Dev - Home Scan #filmphotography #mediumformat #makina #kodak #portra #Dungeness #believeinfilm

Replacing the water pump re-pressurised the whole coolant system, the water pump probably wasn't 100% sealed, so now the point of failure moves to the next weakest point. I'd bite the bullet and replace all 4 plugs, if you replace one its only a matter of time before the domino effect kicks in

Plenty of replacement bellows available, bigger issues are cables that run down the arms (fractures cause lightmeter not to work), bent arms (focus completely off, or lens to film plane not parallel) This issues arise though repeated opening closing of bellows with focus not set at infinty
