OTD in 1979, THE MUPPET MOVIE opened in theaters across the United States. Jim Henson noted (with typical understatement) that its reception was "Great!" and it was one of the most profitable films of the decade. But getting the Muppets to the big screen in the first place was hard work.

My Fable review of "Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Omnibus, Vol. 1" (4.25 stars): "A strong compilation of which the two long main stories could easily have been tv episodes. Angel Hernandez' illustrations and visual storytelling together with Nick Filardi's striking colours are the stars here."

Was watching an episode of Hawaii 5-0 ("Ten Thousand Diamonds and a Heart") from 1971, and could not help but notice Tim O'Connor (Dr. Huer from Buck Rogers in the 25th Century) with a mustache and also Logan Ramsey (Roman proconsul Claudius Marcus from Star Trek's “Bread and Circuses”). #startrek

Disney's 1979 film The Black Hole had a Little Golden Book edition, "A Spaceship Adventure for Robots." This version of the story, featuring V.I.N.CENT and Old B.O.B., conveniently omits the violent and weird end of the film. There is some fruit juggling though.
