A handful of professional cyclists have been hit by cars before and during races this summer and it was inevitable that one of these crashes would end in death. It should be obvious by now that we persistently underestimate and ignore the danger that cars pose to people.

I went to a state college very near Princeton, NJ and a freshman went missing and it was discovered that he'd died in an EXTREMELY specific way in what seemed like a horrible accident, and like, two months later, JCO wrote a short story with what can only be described as "almost identical" details.

#JCcrashes Driver of a sprinter van hit a pedestrian while turning left from Franklin onto Palisade Ave today. The victim was taken to JCMC. In a study in DC, left-turns were found to make up the largest proportion of fatal crashes killing pedestrians at 21%. Today's injuries not life threatening. /
