frankly, I'm shocked that the guy who went broke running casinos would turn out to be shit at running an economy

This is beyond f**ked now. Spotify was already pushing it with the whole "no pay-out for any song with less than 1,000 streams per year" No pay-out for any artist with less than 1,000 monthly listeners is remarkably abusive and exploitative toward small artists theneedledrop.com/news/spotify...

Under the new partnership, both companies will attempt to eliminate monetization opportunities for pages with less than 1,000 monthly listeners and reallocate money from the general revenue pool to established artists, according to Route Note. This decision will also theoretically assist in Spotify's on-going issue of streaming fraud, where fake pages take money from the revenue pool through automated plays of AI-generated music.

Super ridiculous. The Spotify For Artists resource page still only mentions the annual requirement as the official payout. Sadly, if the monthly part is true and not just speculation, I wouldn't be surprised. Which is bullshit that it wouldn't be too farfetched lol

I think they implemented that back in early 2024. You need 1,000 streams in the previous 13 months to qualify (so not 1,000 lifetime if it's been released more than 1 year).

What part of ToS did you even "break" by making a playlist? That's nuts.

If shitbag Rudy Giuliani would stop robo-texting me begging for money, that'd be great.

I don't know the source of this meme, but the use of STARCHING to describe the assault slays me

A painting of a man punching a lion in the face, absolutely decimating both the lion's pride and his Pride.

I'm a bit taken aback at that the amount of hate one finds here by simply searching "golf".

Why do I find it so hard to advertise my own music? I don't judge the small artists that do it a lot; but when I think "yeah, you should too" it changes to "lol no one cares, don't bother" very quickly. I then, of course, listen to the 2nd voice

This has been one specific joke I make to my daughter almost every night that only I know of, and it still makes me laugh even though she doesn't cooperate.
