From report online tomorrow, particularly interesting feedback on sense of community cohesion, which may not have been an anticipated attribute of btr. www.qolf.org #buildtorent #btr #qualityoflife #housing #neighbourhoods
Slide from presentation shows 71.1% respondents agree with "My local area is a place where people from different backgrounds get on well together"

This video was made by a group who were only able to visit us because we were able to offer a bursary to subsidise their programme, so thank you to everyone who supports Brathay in whatever way, and to the fantastic team working with Teresa Jennings

www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/... Caught up with this one today. @dranniegray.bsky.social @vickypayne.bsky.social on fine form, combining interesting little gems with pointers to deeper research. Omnicrisis and opportunity, but substantial failure rates a worry to be addressed central / local govt.

This one isn’t as colourful, but look at how SHARP it is. So sharp it can’t be real. I took it last week though, so it is! 4 ½ brick lengths in its leading edge. Corner Marion St / Argyle St, #Birkenhead
3-storey victorian building sharply triangular in plan, with a leading edge only 4 ½ brick lengths wide

I also liked the little green signs on the planted steps, when I went for a wander last week
Timber planters lining the brick gabian steps with a sign that reads “Ouseburn Green Spaces
The seating and planters on Riverside walk provide a home for wildlife and a place for people to rest and relax. They are looker after by volunteer groups and local people”Wide shot of the planet steps

Special mention must be made of @jaimieferg.bsky.social who told me, back in 2021, his thoughts for a park in the unique Dock Branch. This discontinued railway line winds its way through, and below, the stunning Georgian grid of streets that formed Laird’s Birkenhead in the 1840’s. A special place 💎

This is very welcome news Graham. There is much to do and I firmly believe that the Community Panel is an essential contributor to lasting regeneration of this special place, their home town. Time to turn the volume up to 11

“In July, Bluesky's monthly active user base stood at about 688,568, a fraction of X's base of 76.9 million…” After 15 years on the OTHER platform, feeling great to be part of something fresh
Photoshopped still from the Monty Python dead parrot sketch, with the John Cleese character holding the parrot changed to Musk’s face and an upturned, expired blue twitter bird replacing the eponymous parrot in Cleese’s / Musk’s hand.

So I’ve now moved to bluesky.social and will be hoping some of my followers may also across from darkness into the light! Not as good as Twitter for functionality perhaps (?) but good enough. I just can’t support Musk any more, with clincher being an article in today’s Times

Hello bluesky friends! After much prevaricating I have started the process of leaving Twitter, because of what Musk is saying, doing and not doing on and about the platform. I tried moving to Mastodon last year, but that was too geeky to work for me.
