The rise of “patriots-only” rule in Hong Kong is marked by arrests of opposition figures, the silencing of critical media, and a growing culture of surveillance and anonymous reporting. See the full 30 min doc here www.youtube.com/watch?v=lIDT...

The film deals with tough material, so I was glad to work for the supportive, talented, collaborative team at Emporium Pictures, led by Emma Read and Kathy Hale as well as Tim Pritchard and Charlie Mole. Please do watch, I'd love to hear your feedback.

Alan Yentob might be a strange person to be starstruck by, but I do remember the two times I saw him and I acted too "cool" to talk to him. Once, ambling through Soho, once sat in reception at the Beeb. He had a great influence on television and British culture. May he rest in peace.

Very sad to hear that my good friend Alan Yentob has died. He was such excellent company, and a wonderful interviewer and documentary-maker. I shall miss him greatly.

Sports journalism can at times produce some wonderful writing. "A few months ago a photograph started doing the rounds online. It’s a screengrab from Google Street View, taken in Wythenshawe in 2009, showing an 11-year-old kid standing at the side of the road...

At times like these it's important to remember that for many TV productions, the left hand may not entirely be across what the right hand is doing!

The film I have been nominated for is one that is very close to my heart. It features brave contributors speaking out about their allegations against Andrew Tate and his brother, who stand accused of people trafficking and rape. It's available to watch on iPlayer www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/epis...
