And one time, after balancing, we rolled the dice and it stayed balanced. And that kicked off a fun exploration of how likely that was to happen. Lots of fun places to go with this!

When I've done that with some students, it sometimes prompts the question if that is always possible or not and we've had some fun exploring that ideas.

Nice - another variation I do is that you can't use the numbers you see on the dice when balancing the scale.

Pupils had lots of hands-on experiences for completing the square with Amplify Polypad algebra tiles, then I was able to use part of a @DrFrostResource PowerPoint to make them a summary/review/revision video of 'Logan's method' for them to access. Didn't have this back in 1973!
