The first thermometer made by Anders Celsius defined by the soild and gaseous phases of water had freezing at 100 and boiling at 0. That would have been fun! Metric for ever! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:He...

Excited to see the Oxford Greenways project recognise the importance of safe cycle routes into Oxford. Hope to see the Eynsham Greenway built before I’m too old to ride on it!

Great analysis Danny- I completely missed the entrance point for the cycle path travelling East first time around when I visited yesterday. I predict many folks on bicycles will just stay on the road if it’s not clogged up

Lots of Fiat Topolinos and Citroen Amis parked on the very narrow streets of central Amsterdam- seemed perfectly at home!

Just back from a cycle tour of the Netherlands where we used the numbered nodes for navigation- what a great system! How can the UK Government be happy that our own cycle lane network has to be supported by a charity (although the Walk Wheel Cycle Trust does a great job with limited resources)

This was a really interesting episode- especially the discussion about e-bikes from a bike shop perspective. Essential listening if you are thinking of buying an e-bike!

Our volunteers braved the hot sun on Saturday to cut around and water our young apple trees which have not yet established. Thankfully our well has not run dry.

It's the time of year for the annual cut of our wild flower meadow at the Peace Oak Orchard as all the seeds have dropped. Many thanks to the Eynsham Nature Recovery Network for the use of their tractor and grass cutter and to volunteer Nick for expertly cutting around our fruit trees!

From my experience even here across the pond UK fl oz has given way to ml in most cases, except buying a pint of beer in the pub. Most publicans don’t respond well when you ask for 568 ml of Theakston’s Old Peculier

My first car was a Morris 1100. Cost £10. Lasted until it bombed its annual MOT safety check. Wasn’t allowed to drive it out of the garage. The mechanic said he could bend the rusty suspension arms with his hands. Should have stuck to bicycles!

I’ve got to ask- in your email newsletter there’s a photo of the contents of Roman’s bag and what he describes as breakfast, a flask containing coffee blended with three eggs. I’ve clearly led a sheltered life and never heard of this. All I can imagine is a thick gooey mess? Tell me otherwise!
