I wanted to see if there really was a retro games premium taking advantage of the tourists in Tokyo and Yokohama and having picked up these games at the BookOff in Sendai, I think there might be. There were definitely fewer games to choose from, but I’m really chuffed with these #retrogames

Having a great time in Sendai learning all about Date Masamune. You can see strong Gundam vibes in his helmet, but it was also one part of the inspiration behind Darth Vader’s helmet design. Also, I totally understand why Chris Broad loves it up here. The city of trees is fantastic #sendai

I had a blast recently working my way through #brokensword but it made me realize that @ubisoft took some HEAVY inspiration for #assassincreed (the backstory is essentially the overarching plot of Assassin’s Creed). Sure I’m not first to point this out. It’s a great story though (in both games)

I can’t see myself moving on from my PS5 anytime soon given that Sony has decided to stop supporting discs. Seeing as I’m hanging on to the old PS5, I’m giving my console some retro-styled wood paneling. Reminds me of the excellent Atari 2600 and the wood-themed faceplate I had for my Xbox 360

PlayStation - still the place to play Tomb Raider. I played the original on PC first, back in the day but I always thought of it as a PlayStation game. There’s just something about those controls on a PlayStation control pad. Even though it did come out on Saturn back in the day, too #TombRaider

If I wasn’t (well) into my 40s, and this game had hit me in my tweens or early 20s, I’d be making Mixtape my entire personality. Very few games have writing this good, and characters with inner lives, plus the visual and music chops to pull it altogether. Just fantastic #mixtape
