In fact, as someone who grew up thinking he was basically half English, a quarter Scottish, and a quarter Irish, the DNA thing has been revealing ... Turns out I am basically typically British!

I'm no fan of Reform, but I have to say that I side with them on this one - if you are feeding kids to police, you could at least make a nominal charge for them ... (Headline - Mirror)

Not quite sure what this guy has seen smoking, but he should market it. As far as I can tell from the footage I have seen, selective though it may be, this is exactly how ICE is behaving. Little boys with big toys ...
X Post from Senator Chris McDaniel, saying: "Lately, some folks have taken to calling ICE “the Gestapo.” It sounds fierce. It feels righteous. But it isn’t true, and it isn’t harmless. The Gestapo was a secret police force. No warrants. No courts. No lawyers. And no appeals. People vanished in the night, not because they broke the law, but because the law no longer meant anything. The knock on the door was the sentence. ICE isn’t that. Not even close."

By coincidence, we have one of each right at this moment. Not the best view of the spectacular tail, but there you go ... they are hard to photograph!

Incorrectly drawn flag, as usual ... not reversed or inverted, but just wrong. Top right diagonal red bar of the St Patrick saltire should come to a point beneath the blue, not alongside it. Farage has done this before - some patriot! 😀

Because in the current climate one cannot be too careful 😉 I will mention that the post I saw making the above assertion has now vanished, so direct support for this joker may or may not be on offer from JKR, but I will leave this two-year-old promise of general support as an indicator

This is why Farage is a dribbling traitorous imbecile - clearly even he believes that he is unfit to stand in front of our flag, so he knocks up some approximation of it. The bottom half is the Flag Institute specification - spot the difference. What a patriot ...

Truncated for space letter from Antony Hook, Faversham Councillor, Kent, 1st June

I am very concerned for the safety of Kent residents' personal data at Kent County Council after the Reform Party's latest antics.
Kent County Council holds extensive personal information - such as social services records, records of people receiving care and the education records of every child in Kent.
Tonight (on a Sunday evening, at the end of half term) the Reform Party announced that officials from their party plan to attend KCC tomorrow and begin demanding “not limited" access to council information.
They say they are following Elon Musk's DOGE in the USA. In America, the illegal transfer of people's personal information to DOGE has been a real concern.
They say they want financial records, among other things. But KCC accounts are in the public domain and published online.
KCC committees can request records, but Reform have been cancelling KCC committee meetings.
The Freedom of Information Act makes information available, unless one of a small number of legal reasons not to withhold it apply.
We demand reassurance the Kent residents' information will be kept private and GDPR respected. Private information must not be transferred from KCC to Reform Party apparatchiks.
I am appalled that the Reform Party's announcement threatens KCC staff with severe action, on a Sunday evening at the end of half term.
KCC has a professional staff. I have always found them to respond properly and lawfully to requests for financial or other information held by the council. I expect them to do that for all KCC members. To threaten staff in this way is shameful.
Finally, for KCC policy to be announced by a Reform Party press release signed by two men in London (Nigel Farage and Zia Yusuf) who hold no elected office in Kent makes the KCC leader look like a puppet. makes a mockery of the idea of local democracy. Decisions at KCC should be made in Kent by people elected to KCC.
