David Furness @davidfurness.bsky.social · 4hThe local News are making Telly - presumably for the Spanish National Holiday. Not an iPhone or A7 in sight. 010
David Furness @davidfurness.bsky.social · 8hNo, have seen photos of it. Would do that area, Caminito Del Ray and White Towns by car another time. Have just used trains this trip, and the odd taxi - which has been fine. 010
David Furness @davidfurness.bsky.social · 10hBrexit hasn’t helped anything. Do the Spanish Road trip. Had a trip to El Torcal park via Antequera, amazing geology 110
David Furness @davidfurness.bsky.social · 10hI really liked Cordoba, esp the old town and Mosque-Cathedral. Nice bars, all walkable. Found a cool Airbnb with roof terrace, in a lovely Plaza (lots of spiral stairs) 110
David Furness @davidfurness.bsky.social · 11hIt’s going to be 34 Degrees this week! Only spotted the Toros was on last Sunday, after we’d already booked Cordoba after flying. Wouldn’t have made it anyway, as plane was diverted to Malaga during descent. We’ll need cold caña! 110
David Furness @davidfurness.bsky.social · 11hIt’s been a nice city to spend the weekend, stayed in the middle of the old town. Off to Seville now, on their National Holiday. Will find some Flamenco there. 110
David Furness @davidfurness.bsky.social · 11/10/2026Not a fan of heights, so didn’t do too badly getting up the bell tower in Cádiz 031
David Furness @davidfurness.bsky.social · 10/10/2026A nice custom in southern Spain is bars selling a generic small glass of beer. Doesn’t have time to get warm, and doesn’t generally cost much more than €2 for a caña. 030
David Furness @davidfurness.bsky.social · 09/10/2026Lady in Red, Chris De Burgh. Appalling record. (even if it wasn’t Number One) 130
David Furness @davidfurness.bsky.social · 08/10/2026In Cordoba, the Police have closed roads so that some trendy young things can walk up onto the Roman Bridge while a brass band plays. 000
David Furness @davidfurness.bsky.social · 08/10/2026It’s a lovely city. We’re visiting Cadiz and Seville in the next week. 110
David Furness @davidfurness.bsky.social · 07/10/2026This is a cool little Jazz bar, brass section as the beer tap. 040
David Furness @davidfurness.bsky.social · 04/10/2026I’ve seen your photos before. Cordoba should be lovely, but it’s been a frustrating day of broken retractable steps on plane, then we sat of over an hour on runway as we missed slot, then diverted to Malaga and long, chaotic wait for our luggage. Nice scenery north from Malaga on train. 000
David Furness @davidfurness.bsky.social · 04/10/2026Yes, that did occur to me. It’d be nice to see Malaga properly sometime, but about to get a High Speed train (at airline’s expense - couldn’t land in Seville) to Cordoba and wake up in the right city tomorrow. 100
David Furness @davidfurness.bsky.social · 04/10/2026Didn’t have Malaga Airport suburban train station on the BINGO card today. We’ve ended up here by mistake 110
David Furness @davidfurness.bsky.social · 03/10/2026I was in VT, so didn’t get onto the studio floor that much. It took 3 days’ work. Thurs compile 1” A and B roll tapes with PA (cartoons, features etc), Friday rehearsals, Sat am Live show, then record the Sunday morning show with tape stops and edits. 110
David Furness @davidfurness.bsky.social · 03/10/2026I worked on the Other Side in 1991. Motormouth on CITV from Kent. 110
David Furness @davidfurness.bsky.social · 03/10/2026That is all a bit daft. I’m inclined to call it the Millennium Dome, unless O2 want to sponsor me to call it after their company. Apart from the excellent Indigo theatre and shops, I’ve only been in the arena when it was the Dome. 000
David Furness @davidfurness.bsky.social · 01/10/2026I’ll be in southern Spain next week, so will probably watch missed episodes when I’m back - having probably already read about it on SM. Plan to switch off while there, rather than firing up a VPN on the phone. 010
David Furness @davidfurness.bsky.social · 01/10/2026Just watch it from the first episode. My folks don’t normally watch Reality TV, but did get into the last series. It’s well made/produced. 010
David Furness @davidfurness.bsky.social · 28/09/2026I don’t know the details, but believe they’ve been there a good while - and have a really small studio/gallery. Automated gallery very recently gone into service. 010
David Furness @davidfurness.bsky.social · 28/09/2026The small TV studio in Jersey looking good, recently upgraded to HD and providing Output for SW England today. 211
David Furness @davidfurness.bsky.social · 28/09/2026I’ll be in West Malling tomorrow evening for the camera club. I’ve been to an open day at the modern church, and I think we saw where a retreat is held. There was a large Quadrangle IIRC. 000
David Furness @davidfurness.bsky.social · 27/09/2026It was actually a painless experience, though the first time I tried to complete the purchase it said I wasn’t logged in (which I was, as it worked on 2nd attempt) 010
David Furness @davidfurness.bsky.social · 27/09/2026Don’t think I’ve ever felt so rinsed, but got some Knebworth tickets. Only GA tickets left, which aren’t (relatively) much cheaper than the front ones - but… 110
David Furness @davidfurness.bsky.social · 27/09/2026You did OK then. Have seen the Korgis a couple of times before, so nice to go to the final show and say Hi in the bar. Just posted a clip on the Insta. Next gig is Horn in Dec in London. 100
David Furness @davidfurness.bsky.social · 27/09/2026Great to see The Korgis play their final gig as a full band. 120
David Furness @davidfurness.bsky.social · 26/09/2026So, we have an Oasis code for tomorrow’s sale for Knebworth. It’ll be £170+, but the others are keen to go and will give the queue a whirl. 000
David Furness @davidfurness.bsky.social · 25/09/2026It was an excellent ending. Had a random exchange with Peter’s wife on Threads last night, which was nice. This Q&A is worth a watch, now you’ve seen Ep 2. I was there, at the BFI event. youtu.be/0ikHO1x8rWg?...youtu.beAsif Kapadia and Jackie Bassett on 70-Up: The Final Chapter | BFI Q&AYouTube video by BFI 110
David Furness @davidfurness.bsky.social · 25/09/2026I’d forgotten just how many songs there are, as The Police and as a solo artist. Most are pretty good. Spirits In The Material World a favourite. 110
David Furness @davidfurness.bsky.social · 25/09/2026We did consider going to see them play a festival in Canterbury last month. Didn’t quite make it. Seeing someone in a band tomorrow evening in Essex, who was in a Ska band with Curt and Roland before they became Tears For Fears. 010
David Furness @davidfurness.bsky.social · 25/09/2026The sequences cutting across clips from 7 to 70 do hit hard. 010
David Furness @davidfurness.bsky.social · 24/09/2026It does seem that way. Nothing has been announced in my Division yet. 010
David Furness @davidfurness.bsky.social · 24/09/2026The second episode is particularly good. No spoilers, though. 000
David Furness @davidfurness.bsky.social · 23/09/2026It’s on the BFI YouTube channel somewhere. Worth a watch. 020
David Furness @davidfurness.bsky.social · 23/09/2026Just finished watching the final 70 Up programme. An excellent, and emotional, finale to a 63 year old series. 010
David Furness @davidfurness.bsky.social · 21/09/2026This track still sounds amazing. She played the 6 Music festival in Liverpool a few years ago. 010
David Furness @davidfurness.bsky.social · 20/09/2026Doing Seville and Cadiz in a couple of weeks, and might end up in markets like that. 010
David Furness @davidfurness.bsky.social · 19/09/2026Good stuff. I think 10 miles is as far as I ran before doing the GNR, and was fine. 010
David Furness @davidfurness.bsky.social · 19/09/2026Our Radio multitrack editing software is called Startrack. 010
