David Furness @davidfurness.bsky.social · 27/09/2026Don’t think I’ve ever felt so rinsed, but got some Knebworth tickets. Only GA tickets left, which aren’t (relatively) much cheaper than the front ones - but… 110
David Furness @davidfurness.bsky.social · 27/09/2026Great to see The Korgis play their final gig as a full band. 120
David Furness @davidfurness.bsky.social · 26/09/2026So, we have an Oasis code for tomorrow’s sale for Knebworth. It’ll be £170+, but the others are keen to go and will give the queue a whirl. 000
David Furness @davidfurness.bsky.social · 23/09/2026Just finished watching the final 70 Up programme. An excellent, and emotional, finale to a 63 year old series. 010
David Furness @davidfurness.bsky.social · 21/09/2026This track still sounds amazing. She played the 6 Music festival in Liverpool a few years ago. 010
David Furness @davidfurness.bsky.social · 14/09/2026Never quite seem to make it into The Toon for a drink these days. In and out, en route to the Smoke, in 10 minutes. 111
David Furness @davidfurness.bsky.social · 11/09/202625 years ago, I remember having lunch at what was The Rising Sun in East Malling, then going back to the Meridian News studios in New Hythe to see everyone huddled around TVs on desks in the Newsroom - watching everything unfold. Photos from July 1999. 000
David Furness @davidfurness.bsky.social · 11/09/2026Looking at buying train tickets for Spain next month. Tickets haven’t even been released for medium distance trains beyond Sept 20th yet. According to Mr Seat61, they release tickets when they feel like it. Not so good for folk planning journeys, once accommodation has been booked. 000
David Furness @davidfurness.bsky.social · 09/09/2026The next 2 Tuesdays on itv at 9pm sees the final 2 programmes in the 7Up series. That’s Jackie, from the series, stage left. Director Asif Kapadia to her right. The original 7Up is on itvx, and worth watching in advance. 100
David Furness @davidfurness.bsky.social · 07/09/2026This one really is a FR! Has improved with age, and seeing Horn play it Live a few times. There’s a re-recording done for Hans Zimmer’s 60th on YouTube. Just made from knock-off multitracks, as I don’t think it was ever released. 020
David Furness @davidfurness.bsky.social · 07/09/2026I’ll be at a public preview screening and Q&A for #70Up at the BFI Southbank this evening. They’ve followed the lives of folk who were 7 in 1964 every 7 years. They’ll be jumping forwards and backwards with clips over the 63 odd years they’ve been filming them. Promises to be quite emotional. 230
David Furness @davidfurness.bsky.social · 05/09/2026Excellent evening at the Spirit of Talk Talk gig in Kentish Town. Got lucky with a spot above Sound/Lighting, clear view over the crowd. 110
David Furness @davidfurness.bsky.social · 05/09/2026Anyone else I know going to this gig tonight? Think there are some tickets available still. 200
David Furness @davidfurness.bsky.social · 03/09/2026There's something quite comforting about listening to medium wave radio on the car radio, playing classics like 'The Same Old Scene' by Roxy Music. Radio Caroline still going strong. 010
David Furness @davidfurness.bsky.social · 26/08/2026I know Ron and Russell from Sparks are around 80 and 78, but I did like the way they had no Support, came on at 8pm for approx 100 minutes - I was back home from Southend to Kent just after 11pm. Ideal for all of us of a certain age, who go to Sparks gigs! 020
David Furness @davidfurness.bsky.social · 26/08/2026Sparks rocking Southend this evening. A top night! 020

David Furness @davidfurness.bsky.social · 23/08/2026Finally made it to see The Odyssey. It was the Temu IMAX, but actually quite impressed with the Cineworld at Ashford. Operation Contraflow has gone from the M20, too. Booked the middle of the back row. Thought that might be too far back, but was perfect due to height of the screen. Very loud! 000

David Furness @davidfurness.bsky.social · 20/08/2026Great track, and an FR, but we’ll not mention who used it as a Theme Tune on Radio 1’s Old Record Club on Sunday lunchtimes. 011

David Furness @davidfurness.bsky.social · 23/07/2026So, the Commonwealth Games commence tonight. 40 years ago, when the Games were in Edinburgh, it was tense in the Director’s chair “Cue the Piper, CUE the Piper” “Play, you bastard” and other non-PC comments youtu.be/DTwuI_HDhxw?youtu.be1986 GamesYouTube video by fscl100 051

David Furness @davidfurness.bsky.social · 06/07/2026Quite like this official-ish song of the Belgian football team. It’ll be fun, if they beat the USA overnight. Watched a Group match when in Brussels a fortnight ago youtube.com/watch?v=BgQt... 010
David Furness @davidfurness.bsky.social · 04/07/2026Taking my mum to the ABBA Voyage show, and a drink at a gin distillery/bar nearby. Think they used an old airport sign for the loos. One of those tower blocks must be Lund Point, home of the News during the 2012 Olympics. 010
