#ArtistFaveNonAlbumSingles 5 - Suzanne Vega - Left of Center Another song from an Andrew McCarthy film (Pretty in Pink), this features the wonderful Joe Jackson on piano. 16-yo me felt *seen* by the lyrics, like I’m sure other weird kids did in 86. I’m still a fan. www.youtube.com/watch?v=9YIB...

Not in a while, I was wondering too. Maybe he’s still posting on Twitter?

#ArtistFaveNonAlbumSingles 4 - Bangles - Hazy Shade of Winter An inspired cover of the Simon & Garfunkel song recorded for the Less Than Zero soundtrack. For me it encapsulates the mid-to-late 80s like few other songs can do. (Also, Andrew McCarthy in the video.) www.youtube.com/watch?v=Txrw...

Also LOVE Courtship Dating. But yes, he’s meant to be a manipulative and abusive a-h—, isn’t he.

Agreed. Always a good sign when you forget a cover is a cover.

#ArtistFaveNonAlbumSingles 2. Pet Shop Boys - Always on My Mind One of my favourite covers, actually one of my favourite songs of all time. Impossible to improve. www.youtube.com/watch?v=bDMC...

She’ll play in town later this month but I won’t be around, I’m so bummed. Glad you enjoyed your gig!

They did it in the summer in Halifax, but it was nice to hear it again!

I hope this is a Cher-style “Farewell” tour and they do many many more... 😁

I was tempted to model my new t-shirt, but I didn’t want to be a copycat: I’ll leave that to the original master of the art (you!) BTW, sorry Lemoneheads were a bit of a disappointment.

We’re going, but haven’t see them headlining in a while. I know if I didn’t go I’d regret it, plus Gwenno is supporting in Brighton.

February? I don’t remember what I had for dinner last night... Did you buy a shop’s worth of singles to go with the one you already have?

#WeekendSingles I found a seller on Discogs selling insanely cheap pop singles and I couldn’t stop myself. Thankfully I was never cool to begin with…

7” singles by Elton John, RAH Band, Midge Ure and Vesta Williams.

The amazing I Lost My Heart to a Starship Trooper by Sarah Brightman on 7”.

7” singles by Alarm, Kim Appleby and Boy George.

#CDFriday #MusicSky Didn’t buy many CDs/LPs this summer, but when @philk282.bsky.social recommends something, I usually follow his advice (and I’m never disappointed). 👍🏼

CDs by Nara Leao, Laura Veirs, Julia Holter, FSOL, Tara Clerkin Trio and Bob Stanley’s latest compilation.
