Communications on this cover have been... scarce. But I've already seen this kid on some eBay Live retailers (both in cracked foil and trade forms, I think). So you know what? Here's the lineart for the X-Men '97 Season 2 variant (covering the classic UXM #141). Available in eBay's NYCC blind bags!

David Baldeón @davidbaldeoncomic.bsky.social · 09/10/2026

Almost completely totally sure that the X-Men '97 Season Two variant that I did (with foil treatment and everything!), bound to be included in a eBay blind bag event for NYCC, is out there*. Somewhere. (*): OUT there but IN the blind bag.

Looking forward to pestering you about the new project, the WIP detalis, who I am doing it with (🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩) and why did I have to spend hours deciphering the visual vocabulary of reality TV —the things one will do for comics! In the meantime: the pencils for a face that I liked.

The Muppets Take the Marvel Universe #1 was released yesterday. Does that mean that I'm happily, proudly posting all 5 of the ink pages for the Pigs of the Galaxy story I had the pleasure to draw? Yes. Yes it does.

Do I Wolverine much, you say? I dunno, I wouldn't say I Wolverine much. This Wolverine #27 variant cover with colorwork by @aburtov, with quite a bit of Wolverine per square inch does Wolverine quite a bit though #SNIKT

Come to think of it, my first Marvel gig EVER like, a thousand years ago (2009)... was in a Doctor Doom book! A handful of pages in Marvel Adventures' Doctor Doom and the Masters of Evil #4. Seventeen years ago!!!! So long ago I don't even know in which hard drive I keep those scans.

It's been quite a few days, it's not like I'm spoiling the big reveal in a 12-issue saga and I really really REALLY like how that Bruce-to-Hulk transformation turned out in that last page so... here's the lineart for the short story I drew in Marvel Swimsuit Special: Brand New Beach Day’ #1!

062

David Baldeón @davidbaldeoncomic.bsky.social · 11/07/2026

So Uncanny X-Men #31 was released this week, and yours truly got to do the closing pages! Let me show you the lineart for those... except for the final one of the issue, because that would be so spoilery rude of me. That said, click on the expanding image aware of possible 🚨🚨🚨SPOILERS🚨🚨🚨!!!

Thank you all for your answers! Seems Ben Reilly has a slight edge, and I do have history with him! Here's the thing: I *love* Ben's Spider-Man suit designed by Mark Bagley, probably with a dark blue background... But would the People™️ prefer the Scarlet Spider hoodie suit with sky blue BG? DAMMIT!

Morbius, the “not cursed by an immortal creature of the night but rather metaphorically cursed by the very human hubris of reason and scientific arrogance and also a very visceral and desperate search for survival and that’s why you can see my reflection in mirrors” vampire. #etnacomics #blankcober

1205

David Baldeón @davidbaldeoncomic.bsky.social · 30/05/2026

I’ve always dismissed the “the living vampire” tagline for Morbius as redundant and imprecise. But “Morbius the not really a classic, supernatural vampire but the vampiric-adjacent product of rogue science“ doesn’t ring quite the same, I’lll admit #blankcover #etnacomics #youdigresswhileyousketch
