I might like giving my OCs scars a bit too much. Wilfrid has whatever is going on with his nose. Monty has his back scars and Caspian has burn scars and is missing some fingertips. As well as other assorted lasting injuries, Zendaya’s eyepatch, etc etc

A digital cartoon drawing of a white man with blond hair and green eyes. His thick eyebrows and full beard are both a darker colour. He's wearing a blue frock coat and double-breasted red vest, with a green tie.

He has a mole under his right eye and several small scars on his immensely crooked nose.

A digital illustration. Monty, from The Magical Freelancer's Guild comic, a trans man with medium-brown skin, is shown twice-- on the right, he has his long wavy hair in a ponytail, wearing a green vest, brown sack coat, matching trousers and a red tie. He's smiling wide and gesturing dramatically. On the left is a slightly younger version of him, mostly facing away. His hair is shorter and looks damp, and he's shirtless, but wearing fishtail back trousers . On his back are several cuts and a mix of fresh and dried blood. There's some blood on his face too, coming from his forehead, and his expression is uncharacteristically grim. He's holding a shiny pair of scissors, and there's a little flash of blue coming from his eye. The two are both surrounded by floating embers.

Digital drawing of a young man with long red hair. He's sitting on the floor, one arm resting on his knee. He's entirely nude, except for a blue cloth draped over his waist. From the left side of his chest, down to his left hand, is a burn scar.

A fascinating reason for growing a beard, and particularly intriguing what the circumstances were for that happening to his oh-so-distinct nose. Great character building with your lasting injuries.

Another cultural highlight of Safe Harbor is the great subterranean performance hall in the dwarven quarter. Carved deep inside the marble cliff, the hall combines elements of dwarven underground cities with Central aesthetics and nautical influences. It hosts plays, concerts, and more. #Septopolis

I am extremely grateful for @kikirini.art's assistance in figuring out Melody Fayth's Book 1 hair. I knew I wanted it longer than I was managing to visualize, let alone convey to other artists I've worked with. But Kiki's mastery and insights on hair finally got me there. THIS is her hairstyle.

Digital illustration of a young woman with flowing, blonde hair and blue eyes facing the rising light. She has purple pansy hair-ties and wears a heavier, sleeveless, white robe over a thinner under-robe. Her sash is magenta and her boots are white.

Though I picked Safe Harbor for Melody, figuring out trading companies for #Septopolis is more relevant to Cat as a pirate. She prefers big scores, so she'd go after the bigger companies, like Queen's Company over more local ones like Marble & Vine Co. Which Queen's Company has since acquired.

That sounds familiar. I appreciate the refresher. Now I'm wondering how many demons can go non-corporeal, how many different ways that could go, if it were a shadow-clan specialty, and so on... Very fun to think about! Some similarity to the key power of my superhero, Dream Girl.

Ah, well I can't argue with that. Though it does make me wonder, again, how the possession works, what factored into it being Yasha, and if it could have been anyone else.

Captain Kinnery's pirate crew have some scars, amputations, and prosthetics. Most notable is Upgrade. He's got two hook hands, a blade leg, steel head plate and jaw, and a magi-tech eye. He was in BAD shape when she got him to her ship. Since the operation, the only thing he says is "upgrade".

Hey! Kijo didn't mean to scar Yasha! And the newer ones were Yasha's idea. I blame Touya. Could Kijo have done better? Probably. But is she the worst? Not even close. Teenagers...

Hisaki's got the one big scar, Kakon has lots of smaller scars. Hisaki's was from someone trying to kill him, Kakon's was from torture. Hisaki is very ashamed of his scar and keeps it hidden at all costs. Kakon is repressing any and all feelings about his.

A sketch of our OC Hisaki and his scar. Hisaki is a teenage Japanese boy and here he is depicted shirtless, with a large slash scar across his torso from his right hip to his left shoulder. It looks like someone tried to cut him in half...because, well, they did.

A page from our comic depicting Kakon and his various scars. Kakon is also a teenage Japanese boy, but he has many scars from burns, surgery, slashes, etc. Poor kid went through a lot to get them.

#FantasyIndiesSpooktober What would my MC's wear to a Halloween party? Mathis thinks it's stupid, won't wear a costume, but Rose talks him into wearing a mask. Rose and Chana, separately, decide to dress as the other. Rose as a Maiden, bow and sword and a green cloak. (more)

It's so far out there, I don't expect it to come up. But I do have an idea how Melody and Cat's adventures will be mythologized. And if she were still around, Cat would be incensed to be considered Melody's disciple. Even the first one. Just truly miffed. And... Cat probably outlives Melody.

There is a reason Cat approached him so many times over months before resorting to convincing his mama to move to her island in order to get him in her crew. A good cook is important for morale. So a great chef must be even better.

Centre's version of chess would be very popular in Safe Harbor. Based on the balance between land and water, the game might focus more on control of the board, as opposed to the elimination of a specific piece. The white cliffs around Safe Harbor are the reason white represents land. #Septopolis

Rose would have to do everything. Mathis might help with the kitchen and run interference with the guests and act as security if things get out of hand. Chana. Nope, nope, nope.

Absolutely Cat's idea. Her chef, Carbonara, and/or his mama, are cooking. He was a harder crew member to recruit, after-all. She assigns organizing to Mr. Rahal, her first mate. She socializes. Melody would love to host, but isn't positioned to do so. Her skills skew more cleaning than cooking.

I get to draw Zendaya so much for this page, I'm so excited 😊 #webComics

Two digital comic panel WIPs. Both feature Zendaya, a dark-skinned woman with an eyepatch and. curly purple hair. She's wearing a deep pink blouse with a black lace yoke.

In the first panel, just her hand is visible, with swirling blue light coming off of it. In the second, she closes her hand, snuffing out the magic light. Her head is turned to her left, with her eyepatch facing the camera.
