As well as being morally repugnant, live streaming an execution of someone who will be seen as a martyr to those who would attack the USA, will likely result in many more volunteering for martyrdom resulting in many more deaths of US citizens.

There’s no truly “humane” way to execute another human being. The death penalty is the ultimate definition of inhumane behavior.

The Tories under Badenoch will stand for, reduction of taxes for the better off, reduction of welfare help for the worse off, extending our reliance on fossil fuels, isolation from EU market, and accelerate our aging demographic profile, at the next GE. They are as detached from reality as Reform.

Tax cuts for a nation with an aging demographic and a crumbling infrastructure, alongside reducing the immigration of working age population. Yeah, that’ll work. Also, there is no such thing as the soul of the nation, just another catchphrase for the gullible.

Putting to one side the opinions on policies across the political divide, there are two types of politicians, those who try to build bridges between people and those who wish to build walls. The wall builders like Braverman promote a miserable future.

I remember skilled tradespeople saying this as a reason to vote for Brexit. Only half the story. There has/is a skilled shortage due to lack of investment in providing skills training such as apprenticeships, hopefully now being corrected. Pleased to say my grandson has secured an electrical app.

U.K. politics is hostage to MSM headlines which has lead to a largely uninformed electorate. Hugely important decisions such as U.K./EU relationship is reduced to a need to prove a win for the U.K. on every issue.

True, given his abysmal handling of COVID, leading to so many unnecessary deaths. I was in SE Asia when Covid broke. I couldn’t believe the complacency in the U.K. when I returned compared to SE Asia. It felt very surreal.

I remember the press conference when the deal was agreed and Peston asked about non tariff barriers to trade with the EU. His reply clearly indicated he didn’t have any idea regarding important fundamental detail of the deal, which has had such a negative impact to U.K. trade. A lazy chancer.

I keep trying to point this out russincheshire.substack.com/p/legitimate...
Britain’s birth rate is at a record low, and our population is ageing. In the year 2000 the ratio of workers to pensioners was 6-to-1 (i.e. the tax from six workers supported each pensioner). By 2040 it will have almost halved to 3.3-to-1, and will continue to fall to 2.5-to-one within the lifetime of most people reading this article.

Let me make this clear for the guy struggling to remember if that’s a balaclava or a potty: that’s three times as much of your tax going on pensions.

Without migration, who's going to pay that tax? The British kids who don't exist, from the British parents who can't afford to raise children?

Indeed. I’m old enough to remember the UK (Tory) government being a major proponent of the EU’s “Smart borders” package, which include the EES, when it was first proposed in 2013. Of course, back then, no one in government thought the UK would be stupid enough to leave the EU.
