I don't come on here much but I'm sad to report that the goodest dog who ever dogged peacefully passed away at home yesterday. Her name was Reggie and she was 15.

Anyhow now for a nap. Quite the excitement. All is well though and we had dessert after the paramedics left 🤣

Today I learned there's always paramedics on standby at the Eiffel Tower. I know this because at lunch our littlest shoved a pea so far up his nose we needed the restaurant called the Eiffel Tower paramedics to come pull it out. Merci.

Haven't posted here in a while. Had a bad flare up of my ulcerative colitis over the past few months, just started a new fancy drug to treat it and still not anywhere near 100%. Right now powered by a course of steroids. But made it to France for a long planned family vacation and am still alive.

Meanwhile, backstage, Cecile mentions that "some guy named Dave" is posting a lot about her appearance and is wondering if she should notify her security. My wife had to explain that I was her new boyfriend who just has big happy to be here energy. I met Cecile the next day at the PPFA office 2/

My first story was back in January 2017. My wife and I had been dating for 4 months and she was staffing Cecile's appearance on the Daily Show. She got me a ticket to the show, and I was dutifully tweeting and posting on Insta how excited I was to see Cecile on the show. 1/

If you were lucky enough you might just have a story about Cecile Richards. I have a couple, mostly of embarrassing my wife who worked for her. So much love to those who love her. Today is a heavy, heavy day. Find some lightness if you can.

To be fair I had to wear pants to the classroom where I was teaching 😂. But it's been 8 (!) years since I had a job that was in person in an office environment.

Suspension of reality required though to imagine being knowledgeable enough to only violate federal laws and no state or local. I'd still see it.

Welcomed two guest speakers this week to my classes at Howard to talk about how the election unfolded and the path forward. Big thanks to @markusfordc.bsky.social and @walshfreedom.bsky.social for coming by. Glad to hear from people with very different experiences and backgrounds.

HU! 🦬 It was inspiring spending the afternoon with incredible members of “The Herd” — still committed to truth and service in the wake of a tough election. We talked about what the results mean for the country and where we go from here. Thanks to @davestroup.com for the invite!

Back in 2001 I launched my first blog to coincide with the Bush administration. It was just me as a high school kid going off about stuff. But I just bought the domain back again and might give blogging another go.
