Timezones are difficult, but combined with DST it's even more complex. Somehow the iOS #Delta app doesn't know how to correctly handle DST changes in The Netherlands during the flight (3am local time) when the arrival time has to be updated. It should be a delay, not arriving earlier...
Flight status screen for Delta Airlines flight DL0142 from Seattle to Amsterdam. Departure delayed to 13:59, arrival now expected early at 07:57. Shows nonstop duration of 9h55m and status ‘Awaiting Takeoff'. However, it seems the new arrival time isn't corrext due to disregarding DST change in The Netherlanss during the flight.

Currently in the Teylers Museum in Haarlem, The Netherlands and I stumbled upon a quote from the US Declaration of Independence. Felt a need to share this...
The image shows a small historical room furnished in an 18th‑century style. At the center is a wooden writing desk with a polished surface, accompanied by two upholstered chairs—one positioned behind the desk and one in front of it. The chairs have wooden frames and patterned fabric, suggesting a formal or period‑appropriate design. The floor is covered by a richly colored, ornate rug featuring intricate geometric and floral motifs.

Mounted prominently on the wall above the desk is a large vertical scroll or banner. It displays a well‑known passage from the United States Declaration of Independence in bold, decorative lettering. The text emphasizes the phrases “created equal,” “unalienable Rights,” and “Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.” Below the quote, the banner attributes the passage to the Declaration of Independence, dated 1776.

The room’s walls are painted in a muted, warm tone, and the lighting is soft, giving the space a museum‑like atmosphere. The overall setting appears curated to evoke the environment of an early American statesman’s study or a historically significant meeting room. The furniture arrangement, the preserved style, and the prominently displayed founding‑era text all contribute to a sense of reverence and historical reflection.

Mhh, Consumer Copilot actually did a fine job with this image creation! I wouldn't be surprised they did some backend optimizing before the press release. 🤔
Comic-style panel featuring Microsoft’s Clippy, the animated paperclip assistant, with expressive eyes and raised eyebrows. Clippy stands on the left, speaking to a Formula 1 driver in a bright red race car on the right. The driver wears a red helmet and suit, gripping the steering wheel. A speech balloon above Clippy reads: “I’m seeing you are trying to win Formula 1. Do you need assistance?” The background is beige with a textured, newspaper-like feel. The style is cartoonish and lighthearted, with clean lines and bold colors.

NO NO NO, #Shell! Every #security benchmark considers SMS & Email OTP as weak #authentication. But I would rank Email a bit higher (can have #MFA, no SIM swap) To be clear, even weak MFA is better than none. But this is stupid. Give the user the option for their own OTP/passkey (not possible) 🤦‍♂️

- Verification code via SMS is more secure than via email.
- Optimise your account security."

This #Microsoft365 Message Center #MC1131064 hurt a little: Microsoft Lens app will retire. Starting this September in phases and concluding on 15 December 2025. The replacement app is the Microsoft365 Copilot app, although it certainly does not have feature parity with Lens #WeekITtip #Microsoft365

Summary:
Microsoft Lens mobile app will retire starting September 15, 2025, with new installs disabled by mid-October and removal by mid-November. After December 15, 2025, new scans can't be created. Users should switch to Microsoft 365 Copilot app for scanning; no admin action is required.

Important Update: Teams Meeting Join URL Validation
Summary: Microsoft Teams will validate meeting join URLs starting September 30, 2025 (November 30 for GCC/DoD) to prevent altered or rewritten links from being used. Security products must avoid rewriting these URLs to prevent users from being blocked. No admin action is needed, but organizations should update security policies accordingly.
