So this month the Toronto Sun published a piece about the Allison Inquiry that called vaccines "a crime against humanity at worst" and demanded arrests, and the National Post published a piece deeming Avi Lewis not just an enemy but a danger to Jewish people, with a thinly coded appeal to violence.

I deal with American tourists every single day, and every one has been the opposite of this. Respectful, apologetic, and either researching how to move to Canada or wishing they could. The Americans visiting Montreal this summer have been kind and generous. None would dare wear these sweatshirts.

Today is the 25th anniversary of the day my pal Bayeux's (like the tapestry) life was saved by Roger Clemens. A Yankees fan, he was in NYC on 9/10 to watch Clemens win his 20th game of the season. Game was rained out. B canceled his flight (United 93) the next morning to watch the make up game.

This was the last time I saw the band in person. I remember asking the stranger beside me what song he most hoped to hear and he responded with eldorado. The scream of happiness he let out when the band started into the song is forever in my mind.
