The Play Dead app ‘Dead Drops’ series suggests we may have finally reached the point where ‘special’ Dead releases are just ‘releases.’ Every Dick’s Pick is fire, about 60% of the Dave’s Picks are, and now it’s just like ‘fuck it, here’s some random Spring ‘85 where Jerry may or may not have […]

Happy to see Ben Rice take Freddy ‘Small Market Wonder’ Peralta deep. Eff Freddy Peralta.

One day the #Giants will have a team worthy of their very good kicker.

I wasn’t prepared for the #Giants defense to look THIS bad?

Fall 2026! - or ‘the tour where Trey triggered a blooping raindrop sound on a sampler pad.’ #PHISH

Saw a guy at a bar mitzvah tonight who I always knew as ‘that LCD Soundsystem bro.’ Well, now he’s a total Turnstile bro.

Trey has electronic pads like Neil Peart in 1984 now. #phish

RE: twitter.com/awfulannouncing/status/… Lost a tiny bit of respect for dude in the NBA Finals, but agree with him 100% here.

The studio version of “Character Zero” came up on my shuffle this morning. I don’t think I’ve listened to it in 20 years! In addition to it being objectively funny, I changed the lyrics in my head to ‘I ought to SUE the man Mulcahy’ and now it just feels like a declaration of lawfare to me.

Peyton Tolle pitching to Austin Wells is like a mustache war.

There’s always that asshole behind home plate at Washington Nationals games wearing a MAGA hat. On this last day of the season, it’d be a shame if a pitch simply ‘got away from’ a #Mets pitcher to give him a bit of a jolt………

Ronny Mauricio getting picked off second base with 2 outs and Juan Soto at the plate even in a meaningless game is a good example of why he’ll never be a starter. #Mets

Some kind soul uploaded the new Neil Pearl documentary to YouTube which is handy if you don’t live in Canada. It’s awesome and heart wrenching and super fun. Extremely well done. Watching Neil’s peers play his parts is a kick!

Watching Sturgill stream on Nugs. I am aware of the irony of a Phish fan bitching about too many guitar solos. And yet, this show has too many guitar solos! It’s still pretty cool.

I got my updated Covid AND flu shot in the same arm today. On one hand, I’m happy to stick it to Bobby and having the flu and/or Covid sucks. But I can already tell I won’t be able to raise my right arm come sundown. 🫤

The Texas Rangers’ home stadium has one of those on field cameras that makes it look like every fly ball is about to orbit the Earth. It’s annoying. #Mets #Rangers

RE: twitter.com/Mets/status/21024945667… This is good and smart. Dude connected with the players on a level that we haven’t seen in some time and it’s resulted in the most fun baseball in a lost season.

Happy official 6/30/85 release day! My single favorite show from 1985 with a super high energy cowboy-heavy first set, a not-embarrassing stab at Cryptical Envelopment, great versions of Samson and He’s Gone, TWO Phil/Brent duets, and yeah, it really is the best Shakedown ever, and it’s not […]

I went to a screening of a 2017 documentary about the Paul Butterfield Blues Band tonight. There were maybe 18 people there, of whom I was the youngest by probably 23 years. But one of them was Paul Schaefer and I talked to him for a good ten minutes! Super cool guy. (Also, if you’re in this […]
