Depends on which Dan you are referring to? The "band" that was responsible for their first four albums (even though "the band " ceased to exist after "Countdown To Ecstasy"), or the musos of latter years. I think everything up to "Gaucho" is worth investigating whilst "Nightfly" is exceptional.

Morning Cerys. That sweet synchronicity. Been getting into both Uncle Tupelo and Doug Sahm of late. So "Give Back The Keys To My Heart" was an inspired choice as UT did a version of this on their final album with Sahm on vocals. People like Augie Myers should be inducted into the RRHOF. Unsung.

She is known as a pop/avant garde artist. Some of her stuff is really hard to get into but this album is her most accessible. It’s one of those records that just clicks into place after you have played it a few times.

I’m old enough to have discovered The Beatles by myself. Well me and my brother actually. My parents also liked them. Every record was greeted with tremendous excitement as we couldn’t wait to see what they came up with next. I have very happy memories of hearing these songs when they came out

Better late than never. “She’s Leaving Home” is a lost forgotten classic. The fact that Macca was able to write songs like this and “For No One” in his early to mid 20’s. Such wisdom for one so young.

It was originally regarded as "self indulgent" but it's a wonderful album that highlights Crosby's eclectic talents. Pity he didn't make a follow-up though the Graham Nash & David Crosby album is also worth checking out....

First saw her in Woody's "Play It Again Sam" and was instantly smitten. She was the best foil for Woody's neurotic characters and her comic timing was second to none. If "Annie Hall" was Woody's best film, she was the main reason for it's success.

Sorry to be a know-it-all but Dr.Feelgood got their name from another song called "Doctor Feelgood" recorded in 1964 by Johnny Kidd & The Pirates. Wilko was a huge fan of Mick Green, the Pirates guitar player...... 😀😀

It's an important album. Shows maturity both lyrically and musically. If you can, listen to the album again by concentrating on the production and the arrangements and you'll get some idea as to where Wilson is heading....

I grew up with Thackray via his appearances on The Braden Beat. All my family loved his wit. He was the first person I ever saw perform live. That was at my local Arts Centre with my parents. 1976 I think it was. Glad that he is appreciated a lot more than he was when he was alive.
