Nice line up for that show. I'm headed in for Margo Price.

Was there Thursday and longest line I saw was for the seed art. Saw very little in the way of M*GA hats and shirts.

I sat on the lawn - the sound quality there is exceptional. I went to the soft opening and spent most of the time in the lower bowl, where it seemed kinda bouncy.

Can I assume it's not THAT Steve Perry, right?

Those high harmonies at the end of "Break It Down Again" are sublime. My favorite part of the whole song. Amazing album, even tho it's a Roland solo.

Saw her concert last weekend. It was just guitar, bass and drums and they blew the roof off the place. It was awesome!

"Car Wheels" is one of those genius story telling songs, a movie plays in my head every time I hear it.

If you're willing to spend $30/year on blackout plates, you lose the right to complain about car tab fees or gas prices.

Perfect day to play this classic: 10 below zero here in MN and it's a FEDERAL holiday honoring Dr. King. Stevie Wonder always makes things better!

Once I ordered a tuna melt and it was served cold. I tried to send it back and manager said "that's how we do tuna melts here." I'm like, "Dude, melt is in the name of the damn sandwich!" He took it back and had it heated up "as a favor to me".

I love that record and the story of how it got made even more. Martin Rushent for the win.

"Heega, hagga, hogga"...or something to that effect. Or, "Reeeeal savage like"

Margo Price, not Sierra Ferrel. She sang with Lukas Nelson.

Love that album. I live just a few miles from where the cover photo was taken. Yes, there is in fact a Hollywood, MN.

Have always loved how they just go nuts on the acoustic guitars right after that soft middle section.

"I Scare Myself" was originally a Dan Hicks song, but I really love Thomas Dolby's version. I bet The New Standards really did it justice.

The Head And The Heart. To me, they sound like a contemporary Christian rock band that play in one of those mega-churches that preach prosperity.

Something about the way the drums were recorded on that record just gets me.

Racism is when you believe a white guy is innocent after a jury has concluded 34 times that he isn’t, and you immediately decide an immigrant is guilty when the immigrant hasn’t even had a chance to present their defense.

Really forgot how good of a live album this is. Peak of Sting's Blue Turtle era, Branford, Omar, Kenny, Janice and Dolette ware a helluva band. Before Sting got a little too pretentious. Just Love it. Arrwork is great too. #Nowplaying #80s #musicsky #vinylrecords #vinylsky #popmusic

I just played this one last weekend for the first time in decades. Amazed at how great it sounded. (I just got a new turntable last Nov, and have been playing my old LP's for 1st time since late 80's.)

When I bought the album way back then, I talked the record store owner into giving me the 3 ft x 3 ft promotional poster they had of the album cover. Wish I still had it.

I always listen to this album this time of year, reminds me of high school senior year. "Girl Can't Help It", "Suzanne" and "I'll Be Alright Without You" are so good.

"Beds Are Burning" followed up with "Cult Of Personality " by Living Color has long been a 1-2 punch when I need it.

There are a couple of other Jackson Browne albums more highly regarded than this one, but man, "That Girl Could Sing" is amazing. #nowplaying #vinyl

Picked this version up a week or so ago at my local store. What I love about this version is it was released pre-SBMWS, and has 2 other great songs on it. But "One Of Our Submarines" is not on it, which I love.

I really have enjoyed reading your lists, as I think we are about the same age and have similar tastes. But me being from the States, there's been a few that were quite unknown to me, so you've given me some things to checkout. You run a little more metal than me, but that's quite alright! Cheers!

I really like this album, probably his most commercially successful solo. My favorite Plant solo is Shaken N Stirred, quirky and odd.

Do we know yet which, if any streaming services (Hulu, YoutubeTV, etc) will have Twins available? I didn't seeany listed in the article.

Doing a bit of Journey deep dive tonite. Bought this LP back in the 80's, played it maybe 5 times at most? Production and mix is fantastic. Not the 80's Journey that we all knew, only 3 tracks have vocals. #nowplaying #80s #vinyl

Doing a deep dive into my old Journey vinyl tonite. Infinity sounded amazing. Back then I was into the later Journey, so this copy didn't get played much. Those big, layered RTB vocals that he first did with Queen sound so good.

One Of The Dave's You Know @davedmanley.bsky.social · 14/03/2025

I was 15, bought the LP as soon as it came out. Based just on this post, I played now for 1st time since, maybe 1986? The singles I'd heard over time, but album cuts were like new to me! Faves were I Believe, It's Only Love and Captured By The Moment. But Strung Out is my all time fave on this one.

One Of The Dave's You Know @davedmanley.bsky.social · 05/03/2025

I like Shaken N Stirred best, but I'm gonna put this in my rotation a little more now. "Heaven Knows" was an earworm for about 4 days after playing it.

110

One Of The Dave's You Know @davedmanley.bsky.social · 04/03/2025

Bought the cassette in 8th grade cuz of the single SBMWS. Ended up being blown away by all the other songs on it. Wore the tape out. Then came Flat Earth, loved that one just more! Recently, got Flat Earth on vinyl. (Scare Myself is amazing!) No vinyl Wireless yet, so many versions of that release!

One Of The Dave's You Know @davedmanley.bsky.social · 04/03/2025

Dug this one out recently and played for 1st time in probably 30 years. I hadn't heard "Heaven Knows" in forever and forgot how great a song that is. Then, "White, Clean And Neat"...there's a song that hits differently today than it did back then. And my original pressing sounded really great too!

One Of The Dave's You Know @davedmanley.bsky.social · 02/03/2025

So I just dug out this LP and played it front to back for 1st time in decades, and it sounds amazing! The songs themselves are ok to good (Heartbreak Beat and I Am The Law are my faves), but it sounds so good compared to other LPs I have from this time. I may have to rethink my earlier post. 😀
