iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

That's a very good way to put it yeah - resenting the messages. I don't want to feel that way of course, so some thinking about how to change my attitude is needed.

110

I think you're right yeah. I'll need to do some digging :O Thanks for the feedback and suggestions too, it's appreciated!

000

And the longer I avoid it, the more I fear it's making me lose touch with friends etc. Some of them I don't hear from much now - probably because I'm not as engaged with them.

000

Oh for sure, I don't to that anyway. I'm talking about leaving messages unread for weeks to a month, because I just can't face them. It's not so much that I'm on my phone constantly.

200

I have a device called a brick, which lets you lock certain apps for a while. But even after that, I've become so reluctant to look at my inboxes. I think I'm getting tech fatigue with my phone. It's definitely a love hate relationship at least 😅

100

I'm just so fatigued by even the thought of getting my phone out to respond to a message lately. It's definitely put me out of touch with people more and more, the longer I avoid it. But it's all so tiring, living in your phone like this everyday. Is it just me, or are others feeling this way?

I've become so bad at not responding to messages lately, even from friends and family. On top of work, writing etc. I don't have the energy for my inboxes or extra screen time. It's hard to opt out of this without isolating yourself, losing relationships or falling off radars. But...

I’m such metal geek btw - so if you like Architects, I’d also recommend the Australian band Northlane. They’re fantastic. Give these songs a try: -Cut It -Carbonized -Dante -Cypher -Obsidian -Evian -Crucified -Clarity

I always reply to my Japanese tutor’s emails in Japanese. It can take a while, but it’s a great way to keep practicing between exercises😳 I think I’ve made a few mistakes near the end, but getting more confident with it 😅

What a stunning time at Oh!Con in Stornoway this weekend. The show was such a great vibe. The hospitality and kindness shown to all the con guests was wonderful, and today’s tour of Lewis was superb. Stornoway itself was lovely and I look forward to coming back one day. Thanks to the team 🙏

Just did a pre-comic con quiz, and loved this round. How many can you guess? 🤔

“One of the darkest movies ever made” Nope. Wont even be close. Try again. Why does everything have to be the most or least of something these days? We always gauge things in extremes online now. Where’s the nuance?

Hot off the press, we've got 2 new Killtopia: Phantoms #2 pages lettered by the awesome @micahmyers.bsky.social In this issue, Neo Tokyo's police force has become gamified, so speed and monetisation matters more than truth or due process - sound familiar? Check out the series at www.killtopia.co

Years back I published a free guidebook about Crowdfuning comics. I’ve held off making a new version for ages, due to so many things changing in this space (tariffs, Kickstarter changes etc) But at long last, it’s now in the works! Get the original book here: davecook.gumroad.com/l/crowdfundi...

No probs Kacey, looking forward to sharing the up to date knowledge :)

Please let me know if there’s anything particular you’d like me to cover in detail this time around. This resource is for you, so want it to be as helpful as can be.

Can yakuza drug lords fly? 🤔 I love this page from our cyberpunk comic series, Killtopia: Phantoms. The art by @clarkbintart.bsky.social and colours by @eoosterhous.bsky.social just leap off the page. Check out the series at www.killtopia.co

Oof yeah! Busy-busy - that’s awesome about Halcon though, congrats!

Thank you 🙏 hopefully see you at TBubs? 👀

100

Agreed yeah. Bloody bots 😑

110

😳 that’s so shameless. I’m glad they’ve not managed to get any actual data. What a headache this must be for your team each year.

000

That’s wild 😑 I just don’t know how these folk think they can get away with it

100

I asked them to take me off the database but they most likely won’t. I just don’t know - with GDPR laws being a thing - how this kind of nonsense is allowed without consent. Anyone else received this? What’s your read on it?

020

Thank you 🙏 looking forward to it!

I’m on tables B12/13 in the Travelling Man hall. I’m already incredibly exited to be there!

Very humbled and grateful to be a guest again at this year’s @thoughtbubbleuk.bsky.social Thought Bubble is by far the best comic show in the UK. It’s a must if you haven’t been before. Come along, meet many talented creators, and find your new favourite book 👍 www.thoughtbubblefestival.com

A friend and I always rate our top metal songs each year. 2026 is proving difficult to narrow down from a longlist. It speaks to the amazing quality of releases this year 😳 The only rule is one song per band. My longlist so far is below if anyone’s looking for new music👇

Oh no way, I got an Ayn Thor in the most recent release batch. It’s absolutely superb once you get all the formats running 😳
