Brentford are going to be interesting to watch this season. I can see them blowing some teams away early on, but the caveat is there’s no way they can play with that intensity for 90mins, let alone all season. They dropped off considerably after about an hour. Top 5 until Jan, then a monumental drop

I say “adequate”, but yeah, I think they’re all good defenders. But we shipped a fair amount of goals last season. Hopefully with a proper keeper and the couple of upgrades in last season’s back line we concede fewer. Dangerous to not provide the attacking players we desperately need.

Looking very much like it. Either they’re sitting on about £50m in available funds, or they lied about how much we could spend. We’re an injury or two up top from a very real relegation battle. All nice having an adequate defence, but if you can’t score, you go down.

I could be wrong but I’ve seen very little to suggest it. Either way, even with us overpaying for James, he’s nowhere near 4x the value. A good short spell at Shaktar, other than that his record is bang average. Maybe there’s a player in there but I’ve yet to see it and the stats don’t suggest it.

We didn’t pay £100m for ours. Thing is, I’m not even convinced he’s any better than James.

Only way I see it working for us is if they pay a huge chunk of his wages and we get an option to buy at a decent enough price, incase he turns out ok. I’ve seen most to suggest he will though.
