The demo has now been completed on Steam Deck. First impressions are great.

Got it on my Steam Deck ready to play when the time comes!
A screenshot of Steam's Gaming Mode on the Steam Deck, showing a self-made entry for the itch.io game Prototype N. The banner consists of the game's logo and trees in the background. The statistics state that the game was last played "today" and the play time is 14 minutes.

And here’s the game running on the Steam Deck for any who are curious. :3

What's the solution to making a logo for a game mode that heavily leans into the style of large Japanese creatures? Make the logo in the Trident BIOS font, a.k.a. the "Subor" font used in various bootleg NES software.
Mecha Smasher Dinos logo on Mercury OG, written in the Trident BIOS font with a gradient shading in yellow, blue and green colours. Below is a player count that doesn't yet function due to the game mode not yet being implemented.

While no actual level geometry, the tiles for the levels are there ready to be used in another mockup some day.
A mockup image showing tile sets relating to text and the Mineshaft levels. The text example includes letters A-Z, numbers 0-9, as well as ! = © PTS & TM _ symbols. For Small Graphics, it shows a blinding ruby, using a high color tile, a coin using a high-res tile and a skull using a high-res tile (the skull used for the death counter in Practice Mode in the real game). Below are the various tiles used for the Mineshaft levels. Terrain uses high-color tiles while the far background uses high-res tiles. The text below all of that says "Annalynn(TM) & © Cruise Elroy" and "Commodore 64 Tile Set by DataBase_20."

And this is what those crashes looked like. Not fun at all. Just imagine the pain it would be if this program lacked auto-saving...
A screenshot of what looks like a blanked out project information screen. This is actually what happened when LSDj decided to randomly crash on my Chromatic. It doesn't display an error screen displaying helpful memory address information as to where the crash occurred on, making the crash impossible to properly report.

After a lot of transcription work, as well as plenty of random unexpected crashes, likely caused by rare incompatibilities with the Chromatic hardware, as well as some experimentation, I managed to recreate the Balloon BGM from Pitfall II. I'm thankful LSDj has auto-saving in case of crashes.

I rarely use this thing anymore and just got it working on my new OS. What should I use it for?

While my collection may have been short-lived due to me now having an EverDrive, it won't stop me from getting more physical carts in the future.

I got bored and started searching around in the Old-School PC Font Resource, and found that this font, Trident 8x16, seems to be a near-perfect match to some of the NES-based dancing games along with other Subor-related stuff. This might interest @pirategamething.com int10h.org/oldschool-pc...

My standard Minecraft character named Dakota. There are more variants of her I have.

Thought I'd show a sort of start of a new collection of Game Boy Color (or even original Game Boy) games. I might bring my AGS-001 blue GBA SP along for the ride.

Because I was bored, I decided to try my hand at a custom TNT. This custom TNT is called NTR, shortening of Nitro. 90s gamers may get the reference immediately. This TNT type explodes immediately upon ignition and can chain explosions much quicker than standard TNT. #Minecraft

Got the game in and played a lot of it in my spare time. You can tell I still need to get used to the controls and in general improve at the game. Most Easy and Normal songs are passable. Hard is a whole different story.

Speaking of Game Boy Color, this is my Endless score on a version of Tetris from 2024 for a new kind of Game Boy Color.

This has to be the most bootleg game console I've ever seen in person. I'm not sure what kind of hardware this thing is, but judging by the visuals and sound driver it's not an NES on a chip.
Front of the bootleg handheld. The stick functions but as a duplicate D-pad.Bootleg game handheld showing its language selection screen upon powering it on.
