Ha, yeah it really does. While I like him, I’ve struggled to see a system where we get the best from him.

Darrel @darrelb.bsky.social · 28/06/2026

If Wissa and Elanga get a good pre season with us and stay fit, also carry their WC form forward it would be a boost to the squad. But we do need to look at how both are used compared to how we play.

We didn’t leak the players we were going for previously so unsure why it would start now. Paper talk, agent talk, could come from anywhere and not necessarily be accurate

000

Darrel @darrelb.bsky.social · 27/06/2026

That we will move in the market and make decent signings. Thats the key for me really and can’t really judge it until the end of the window. I appreciate its hard due to the W.C. hence the market being fairly quiet. I refuse to be dragged into paper talk, would drive you nuts believing it all

Darrel @darrelb.bsky.social · 27/06/2026

Yes it was an awful summer. Followed by strong cup runs and decent champions league campaign, likely at expense of poor league (again). We’ve been set up to be picked at by larger clubs as we’re now feeling. It’s shite, I’d agree. But no idea who we are really targeting and I at least retain hope

Darrel @darrelb.bsky.social · 26/06/2026

Rolled back over here a bit. The #nufc feed on Twitter is depressing 😅 I don’t mind reading critique and at the minute it’s warranted, but some balance eh!

Cracking ball in from Barnes. More of that please!

Canny trip south (no travel issues with snow), to see @cirquedusoleil.bsky.social again. Always extraordinary.

020

Darrel @darrelb.bsky.social · 28/12/2025

Yeah I’m thinking around board issues we have hopefully come through. Be interesting to see if we do anything this window. Usually not. Agree on not selling well.

000

Darrel @darrelb.bsky.social · 28/12/2025

I think it’s fair to be critical but some think it’s like football manager and that swapping managers or players is simple. No long term thinking etc. we clearly have issues, the board need to support the manager to work through them. They’ll be discussing regularly I’m sure

Darrel @darrelb.bsky.social · 11/12/2025

Cracking away fixture, lovely city (stayed Dusseldorf), unlucky not to get the win but decent away point. All eyes on a little game Sunday now #nufc

Darrel @darrelb.bsky.social · 29/11/2025

Surprised to see Gordon on the bench but fair. Tonali on bench assume not 100%, been wanting to see Thiaw and Burn at the back for a while. Happy with the side, shame no Sandro but must be for good reason #nufc

Darrel @darrelb.bsky.social · 22/11/2025

What a huge huge result #nufc Let’s keep this going eh! 🙌🏻

Darrel @darrelb.bsky.social · 05/11/2025

Not at our best but worthy winners. Thiaw outstanding again, my MotM. Gordon really not looking himself, assume has that bug and was struggling. Hall solid when came on, good to see him back. #nufc

Thank you 🐾 he was a good soul.

And in that moment, my heart shattered. To the universe he returns. He was the best soul. Leo: 2011 - 2025 😞 #bostonterrier #dog

Leo our Boston terrier. The best soul, he’d bark at the wind and we’ll miss him dearly.

Was the first time I’d been truly broken by an Ale. Theakstons Old Peculiar. First bar I felt at home at. Every session used to start there 😂 some amazing sessions and live bands. Wouldn’t surprise me if you were one of them 😂 was maybe 88-92

Darrel @darrelb.bsky.social · 01/11/2025

This is Leo. Coming to 15. Poor guy struggling at the minute so going to start giving him some pain meds, see if helps. We took him from an unwanted home when he was 2yo 🐶 #bostonterrier #dogs #TheRealOldDoG

Posted this pic in a few places recently, but love reminiscing. “The Doll” used to be my favourite pub in Newcastle. Great for live music and dodgy ales. I was 18-19yo and was at the start of my coming of age years 😂

Don’t often see Eddie change on HT but could see we needed it. Was surprised to see Elanga pulling up and just not getting penitration using his pace #nufc

Last time I looked the gutters were ok, but rain much heavier than normal. That said, I should look in gutter really! Doesn’t take much to get clogged.

Darrel @darrelb.bsky.social · 04/10/2025

Another gig booked for next year, this time The Cure. Been on my wish list for way too long!

030

Darrel @darrelb.bsky.social · 03/10/2025

Ah I found a leak in our old house today. Think it’s rain water over spilling the gutter, running down the wall, then finding a way in 🫠

No idea how Pope got to that 🙌🏻

Aye second yellow easy there.

000

Darrel @darrelb.bsky.social · 21/09/2025

How isn’t that a pen to #nufc ? Grabs shirt in box and prevents him attacking the ball.

Darrel @darrelb.bsky.social · 21/09/2025

Canny for Sunday morning football ! U15 then u11 Chilly 🥶

020

Darrel @darrelb.bsky.social · 12/09/2025

Yeah could well do, give him 60-65 and see how he does

010

Darrel @darrelb.bsky.social · 12/09/2025

Yeah I think big Joe starts. He might even throw Wolt in the deep end but I’d be surprised if

000

Darrel @darrelb.bsky.social · 12/09/2025

Gordon banned, not inured

030

Darrel @darrelb.bsky.social · 12/09/2025

Wissa out tomorrow, Gordon injured and I can’t see him starting Woltemade. Curious how he approaches this. Does he risk Woltemade with no prem experience or give Osula a shot? #nufc

Here we go! First game of the season #grassroots for my u11 and u16. Early start for both.

The king is dead ☠️ Long live the king 👑 #nufc #woltemade

Darrel @darrelb.bsky.social · 01/09/2025

Yeah, I’m still in the wrestling with my mind state stage. Acceptance will be around the corner.

010

Darrel @darrelb.bsky.social · 01/09/2025

Ah well, Isak saga done. Player gets his wishes by downing tools and forcing an exit, costing his team points and sticking two fingers up to the club and its fans. All for the money. Kinda makes you respect Guehi even more with his conduct. Move on, ideally bring someone in today. Late.

090

Darrel @darrelb.bsky.social · 31/08/2025

Yeah Murphy has flashes of brilliance but Elanga is much more consistent. Be good when our forwards are settled and he builds up an understanding

010

Darrel @darrelb.bsky.social · 31/08/2025

I bet! Dropped points in games and that’s at his door. He has let them down as much as us.

010

Darrel @darrelb.bsky.social · 31/08/2025

Yeah it’s a big asset to sit gathering dust. As satisfying that might feel, doesn’t help us.

120

Darrel @darrelb.bsky.social · 31/08/2025

Yeah going to Liverpool would leave a bitter taste like. Childish perhaps but I’d love him to go elsewhere.

050

Darrel @darrelb.bsky.social · 31/08/2025

Early KO for u16s today 9.30am. No u11s today so good to watch the big lad this time! Away, but local as two Cramlington teams meet (friendly pre-season still). #grassroots

010

Darrel @darrelb.bsky.social · 31/08/2025

Just glad one way or another the saga will be done

020

Darrel @darrelb.bsky.social · 31/08/2025

DCL made a big threat difference to Leeds yesterday. That’s exactly what we are missing (the first 3 games) and why a focal point/ physical forward is needed. Kinda makes me think Larsen would be a great addition still. Not sure Wolves want to sell though #nufc

050

Darrel @darrelb.bsky.social · 31/08/2025

Yeah it’s glaring what’s missing isn’t it. But it impacts how we play as a team as well. I’m convinced we see a better Elanga once we have a decent forward.
