A common merganser glides gracefully through the cold, murky water, its pale body, dark fluffy head and bright orange bill contrasting beautifully with the ripples around it. Its bright blue eyes lock directly onto my camera, capturing the moment in a silent connection.

Red-Breasted Nuthatch - Utah #birds #borb #birb #photography *While in the process of discovering how to use my first zoom lens, this was the first bird I spotted that wasn’t a typical backyard visitor. That moment sparked my desire to pursue wildlife photography as a hobby—and I’m so glad I did.
