All done with Copper Coins! I really loved it. Xue Xian is a top tier character, Xuanmin's identity and his past slowly unraveling was my favourite part. And the side characters - Tongdeng and Jiang Shining particularly, were so endearing. I love this book and I will absolutely read more Mu Su Li.

Xuanmin glanced at the fruits in the courtyard. After a few weeks of Xue Xian's vigil, the raindrops were now polishing each loquat to a gleaming golden yellow. They were vivid as they hung heavy from the branches.
When Xuanmin returned his eyes to Xue Xian's face, found the dragon with a corner of his mouth quirked up

I've been reading Copper Coins, it's delightful! Xuanmin is a mystery and Xue Xian is such a jerk, I love him. They're perfect.

He pondered for a moment longer before retreating into the pouch. Inside it, he squirmed about restlessly. moving himself to where the marble rested. then laid himself flat over it in a papery embrace.
The hemp acolyte robe was very thin--the pouch's inner layer pressed directly against Xuanmin's hip. As Xue Xian moved around, Xuanmin could naturally feel what he was doing. He pushed the reed through the water a little, ther asked with a frown, "Why can you never sit still, evil spirit? What trouble are you up to now?"
"Just row your boat and mind your own business," came Xue Xian's muffled voice from the pouch. I'm m brooding an egg. Shut up and leave me alone."

I would like to ask about Guardian - no I never watched it don't yell at me - but since I read the novel and I'm currently still in a Priest hole because of Mo Du and jitd, I'm curious. I'm aware of the changes, that it's different from the novel. I would like to know the state of it on Youku. +

Episode 13 was PERFECT. Adding the part with him imagining Fei Du using the chair was AWFUL. I hated that. (I mean that affectionately because geez it hurt.🥲) There were lines of dialogue that were basically word for word from the novel and I'm living for it. #justiceinthedark

In a somewhat strange voice, Fei Du said, "Nothing. I love

Luo Wenzhou knew perfectly well that the words "I love you
coming out of Fei Du's mouth were about the same as "Have
you eaten?" but he still accidentally bumped into a drinking
fountain in the hall.

Then, that evening, he received a frank and ardent bouquet of
roses.

down and looked at him, then very carefully, avoiding his
injured shoulder, lowered his head and gently touched his
lips. "It really is time for you to be dreaming. Go to sleep, I'll come have dinner with you when you wake up."

Luo Wenzhou comes back, gets Fei Du out of his room, makes him a meal, gives this whole speech:

"When a person's been burned to ashes and become about
the same as a piece of apatite, there's nothing there worth
revering. So why do we treat it like a big deal?" Luo Wenzhou
crossed his arms and said from bebind Fei Du, "Why are
there holidays to mark the beginning and end of each year?
Why do you have to make a public confession and stroll
around in the streets together before getting in bed with

someone? Why, to live together legally, in addition to
needing a certificate, do you need to invite your friends and
family to a useless ceremony? Because life and death, dark
and light, partings and meetings, all have the meanings
people have endowed them with. You can't see them or touch
them, you don't know what use they have, but the difference
between you and me and a lump of chemicals lies in those
bits of meaning."

7 years ago I had a bunch of my favourite Malec fics bound into 14 books (there's actually two more). It was a very time consuming project and I did a whole lot of text editing to make fancy chapter titles and such. These books live under my bed now because I have nowhere else to put them ... 🤪

Looking at his office, to which an extra desk had been added,
Luo Wenzhou leaned with one hand on the door and silently
waited for Tao Ran to explain.

""There's really nowhere to fit another desk outside," Tao Ran
said carefully from behind Luo Wenzhou. "But set your mind
at ease. I just asked Fei Du, and he said he'll only be coming
once or twice a week. He won't be here every day. Once this
research project is over, they'1l disperse. It won't be very long,
he'll only be in here with you temporarily for a few days..."

Luo Wenzhou's gaze swept over the enormous air purifier in
the corner, then fell on the door-the space originally piled
up with junk had been cleaned up, and a fully-automatic
coffee machine had been placed there instead, along with a
little refrigerator around a meter high. The refrigerator was
jammed full of cold beverages with the scripts of all nations
written on them. There was a note on the door that read:
"Help yourself, don't be shy,"

That's book one of Mo Du completed! 🙌 Actually didn't take me that long, about 3 weeks which is pretty good for me. I was completely engaged in the murder mystery and all the layers it had - learning about the victim and the suspects backstories, tragic tales the both of them. +
