Visual example: Let's say it's VERY important that your readers notice a key getting stolen by a mouse. You do NOT want your readers to miss this as it plays a huge role in the plot later. Will some people notice the mouse in the first example? Sure. But EVERYONE will notice in the second.

In the first panel the characters are framed in the foreground and a mouse carrying a key is a smaller element of the background, off to the side. Since I drew them with rings the other day, I entertained myself by coming up with ways a proposal would go hilariously wrong. This idea was fated, because I came across this thing randomly while scrolling Vinted and could. Not. Stop. Laughing. #oc

Suddenly, Mikey looks devastated.
Mikey: "Why are you taking so long to answer?"
Vic: "I fumbled it in a third way!!!"

On the topic of whether Bobby has pets #oc

A messily drawn short comic in black and white. Bobby and Vic are talking.
Bobby: "Since you offered... I'd love to move in while we record the new album. But I live far and I can't leave Morty alone. Do you mind if I take him too?"
Vic thinks: "Right, bobby has a pet. But I totally zoned out when he talked about him once. Phew, this is awkward."
Vic: "If ya think it's safe for him, I'm down."
Vic thinks: "How bad can it be? A hamster?"
Bobby: "Thanks! Just a heads-up, he likes to slither out of his terrarium."
While there's a comical doodle of a hamster slithering up the wall of its enclosure next to his head, Vic thinks: "so, hamster's slither?"
Vic: "Yeah, whatever."
Later at night, Vic is sleeping in his bed, snoring. He wakes up when he feels something. When he opens his eyes, He sees a snake staring back at him.

I was revisiting character sheets I made a while back to be useful for the comic with updated details and color schemes, and I though I might as well post them #oc

Character sheet titled 'Casual' with four characters: Vic, a tall man in his fifties with bleached hair, Mikey, a younger shorter guy with a good set of arms dressed like he popped out of the 80s, Raven, a goth young woman with a messy mikado, and Bobby, a short metalhead with a battle jacket and a bandana. Around them are notes commenting on the details of their outfits.

Character sheet titled 'Stage early (diy)' with the aforementioned four characters. They are wearing simple stage outfits with wild west themed clothes: a stetson, jacket with frills and cowboys boots for Vic, chaps for Mikey, Poncho and flat brimmed hat for Raven, and a cow-print vest and horns for Bobby. Around them are notes commenting on the details of their outfits.

Character sheet titled 'Stage pro' with the aforementioned four characters. Their outfits are a flashier and more professional looking versions of the previous ones. The gang visits Vic's old home #oc

As the trio talks, we see their thoughts in the background, common scenes from their life where Vic hugs Mikey when he greets him, leans on him when looking over his shoulder or conspicuously sidles up to him while sitting on a sofa.
Raven: "You get it, don't you?"
Mikey has a thought bubble near his head, filled with advanced arithmetics. Finally, he bursts into a shock.
Mikey: "I'm just a cow to him!"
Raven: "No."

Shortly after Raven joins the band... I am once again unable to introduce ocs in any coherent way and instead had fun with a random scene. In my defense, it *is* a perfect microcosm of their dynamic, these three are just like this all the time. #oc

Comic page. Mikey, a younger man with a tank top and a bandana tied in a strip around his forehead, and Vic, an older man with long bleached hair, are sitting on a couch, talking to someone out of sight.
Mikey: "We've been recording our own material of course. And to keep some clout among the showgoers, we're putting it out for sale. But how? CDs are old news, right? People don't even have CD drives in their computers anymore. So we came up with something better that anyone can play."
Vic: "Well, Mikey did."
Mikey: "We recorded a bunch of demos on my smartphone, copied the files over and voila!"
Mikey is holding up a flashdisk with "Spandex Cowboys" handwritten on it.
Mikey: "Debut album! Pretty smart, right?"

Comic Page. We now see the person they have been talking to, a young woman with goth clothes names Raven. She puts her head in her hands.
Raven: "You're idiots."
Mikey "What?"
Mikey points at her accusatively while Vic pats his back.
Mikey: "it's perfect! And cheap! This is the future!"
Raven: "You can't distribute your album on flash drives."
Mikey: "Why not?"
Raven: "No, nobody uses CDs anymore aside from one group of people. Music fans! You know, the people you're targeting? They love supporting bands by still buying CDs. They buy vinyls for crying out loud. There's literally one type of person left who buys CDs, and now they should be paying for random flash drives with god knows what on them. You're still randos. For all they know, it could have a thousand viruses on it. Think about how easy it is to fake too. People always find a way to take advantage of things."

Comic page. The conversation continues with Raven's body language gradually getting more agitated.
Raven: "So, how many do you have?"
Vic: "A lot!"
Raven: "How many have you sold?"
Mikey: "You're the lucky first customer."
Raven: "I asked for some recordings to study! I'm not buying anything!"
Mikey: "15 dollars."
Raven: "is this a band or a ponzi scheme? I need to learn your songs!"
Mikey: "The band's gotta eat!"
Raven: "You're already leeching off Vic's endless royalties!"
Vic: "Now now... Mikey, don't be stingy. Here ya go, Raven."
Vic puts a handful of flash disks into Raven's hand.
Raven: "You really have a surplus, huh?"
Behind them in the background, several boxes are seen around the kitchen counter.

Comic page. Raven is at home, listening to the album on her computer with headphones. Around her is a pretty well equipped home studio. Around her are her thoughts: "The guitarwork is tight. It carries the song without any other instruments too. The vocals are raw but robust. The composition is perfect. Old school, as expected... Damn dorks..."
We see the computer screen with the list of mp3 files open. The names of the songs are as follows: Dead not Alive, Hitlist, Whoremistress, Tumbleweed, Mate (Like a Wolf), Cowgirl, Fast Lover (Cougar Lust cover). Above them is a jpeg file named "cover". Raven smiled and thinks: "It sounds fucking amazing."
In the last panel is the trio. Raven is pointing at the two guys while Vic nudges Mikey with his elbow. The caption says "The next day".
Raven: "You need to up your production quality. I came up with bass parts for some songs too."
Vic: "Told'ya she'd be good!"

Started drawing this for bad comic day but ended up going a little ham with isekai dad #comics
