Met a couple of insect friends in the flower garden today.

Picked up my #CSA share from Ecolibrium in Redmond. Looking forward to to all this deliciousness (and pretties).

A bag full of produce on the floor of a car with lettuce, turnips and broccoli visible. On the seat there is a box with mint, cilantro and parsley starts. And lying in the seat is a bundle of fresh cut flowers, parsley, lemon balm and rainbow chard.

How did this happen? Did the mopping robot get scared? Poor Remy.

My mom made me a butterfly sandwich.

My cats usually have a catio they can go outside in. But we’ve been rebuilding our deck for a few months. Sitting in front of of the door is not the same. Sirius escaped today and the foreman had to catch him. Poor kitties.

I took this picture. You could see greenish swirls but not the rest of the colors with the naked eye.

The Aurora borealis over a mountain reflected in a lake with conifers on the left side. The aurora contains red, yellow, green, teal, blue, magenta, and indigo.

Enjoying the sunshine and the fact that I live on a lake.

Legs wearing green-grey pants with elastic at the ankle ending in feet with orange sneakers stretched out on a dock with the shimmering water of a lake beyond it. Conifers edge the water in the distance with a blue sky with a few white fluffy clouds.

Here’s a shot of one of the flying cormorants.

I went outside onto my dock to take pictures of the Glock of cormorants that have been hanging out. As I started to step down I was startled by this duck. Until I realized it was a decoy. Now I’m just trying to figure out how it got there.

There’s a person I’ve seen a few times paddling a surfboard on their stomach in the middle of my suburban lake. On previous days I’ve watch them attempt to stand and have the board shoot up into the air. I wonder what their goal is.

I got this beauty at my CSA last week.

I’m so glad Weather Bug sent a push notification about this lightning. Gotta stay safe.

Taught myself how to do cyanotyping. It’s a little tricky in Western Washington in late September because you have to catch the sun when it’s out. But it did poke out for a few minutes.

I guess it depends on what you consider predominantly to mean. According to the 2020 Census Seattle is about 60% white and other races are less than 17% each, with most under 10%.

Why are the invasive species so pretty?

Arrowhead flowers. Long green stems with a bunch of small flowers with three white petals each and a yellow green center.

Asiatic lilies. Reddish and green lily pads float in the water. Interspersed there are a few white lotus flowers.

I really love this order date. 72 years is a long ass time to process. The prescience needed to know my child would need this 20 years before MY birth.

Belted kingfisher that was hanging out on my dock this morning. I shared the picture with my children the conversation about ut took a turn.

Small bird with a black head and back and a while band around the neck and white in the chest. It had a long beak and spiky feathers on its head. It is perched on top of a post with water in the background reflecting conifers.

These two fledging eagles have taken up roost in the trees along my driveway. I was startled when I came home earlier because animal protection people were in my driveway because one of these fellas had been on the ground. Which is not an approved activity for eagles. #photograpy #wildlife #eagle

Nope. When the eagle finally gives up and flies away the crow follows him and does not go back to the tree.

There is some kind of beef between the crow and the eagle. Every time the eagle is in this tree the crow dive bombs it. Over and over. Sometimes when the eagle is down by the water the crow dive bombs it. I'm not sure what the eagle did but its bad, folks.
