A million years ago, there was a zine called “Red Eye on the News” — basically a compilation of headlines and snippets from WSJ, NYT etc that, sans comment, made a case for a Marxist perspective. (Some commie left copies at the laundromat I went to.) This woulda gone in.

KFF’s latest poll shows a majority of the public (59%) now say they are at least “somewhat worried” about being able to afford prescription drugs for themselves and their families. This is the largest share since KFF first polled on this question in 2018. on.kff.org/4s4LNCF

Too often, insurance companies offer only “ghost networks” for mental health: lists of therapists who don’t actually accept your plan. Too rarely do they face real accountability, as @propublica.org‘s reporting makes clear.

Good reminder that the medical debt numbers you see don't include credit card debt taken on to pay a medical bill. The problem is worse than even the grim numbers presented suggest.
A new york state required disclosure that using a credit card to pay a medical bill means that debt is no longer considered medical debt. This means you don't have certain federal and state protections around medical debt like prohibitions against wage garnishment and property liens.
