Setting up plans and directions and time to arrive at places while traveling has long been an annoyance for me, really glad to see my current favorite travel planning app take a swing at it. tripsy.blog/tripsy-3-9-sma…

I took a photo of the fence on our wedding day 4+ years ago, and yesterday Block Club Chicago posted about the local community laying flowers and candles alongside the mural in mourning. Such a beautiful tribute to a beautiful person. blockclubchicago.org/2026/08/...

A solid metal front fence of a business with a monochrome mural of a young Dolly Parton’s face on the left and almost entirely covered by green ivy on the rest of the fence.

Anyone have a favorite rounded sans-serif that has a bit of quirk to it? I like Kit Rounded quite a bit (in the screenshot) but it's licensing is not great for me. Preferably variable, with a chunky/bubbly bold/black weight, and a simpler licensing model for web and app use. Not too cartoonish.

Sample text of the Kit Rounded sans-serif typeface showing a thick weight with a quirky character to it added by tapered, sharpish curves on the insets.

A surprise gift showed up today that apparently my wife ordered for my birthday over two months ago! Love this little terrarium 💜 (the terrarium was the gift, not the disassembled iPhone)

A glass terrarium with a floating light attached above sitting on a bookshelf with books above and below. Next to it is a disassembled original iPhone displayed in a frame.

They finally updated the Apple Pay UI, so you don't click the wrong button to change cards every, single, time! Not sure why they made the button look disabled; hopefully they fix that. You can also swipe between them.

Screenshot of the Apple Pay interface on an iPhone in iOS 27. Directly underneath the image of the credit card is the button for “other cards, and payment options”

Long clip, but @marcoarment.bsky.social’s reply to @siracusa.social’s point on Tim Cook’s retirement just really hit home how much I agreed with both of them. castro.fm/episode/hCeg...

I told Claude to use OKLCH for color adjustments and to test contrast using both APCA and WCAG 2.1. I asked it to avoid certain "ugly hues" — certain greens and yellows — for complementary colors. It took back and forth, but the time spent was reasonable. Markdown: www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/dmv2j...

Love this shirt! Original post: mastodon.social/@SteveFaulkn...

A Mastodon post from Steve Faulkner shows a t-shirt design with a red anarchy symbol, using the anarchy symbol as the "A" in the words "A11Y" and "ANTIFA." There is a link to purchase the shirt on Etsy in the original post and a coupon code for 20% off.

Fuck Kansas, so hard 😡 www.erininthemorning.com/p/kansas-sends…

“Should any transgender person be caught driving without a valid license, they could face a class B misdemeanor carrying up to six months in jail and a $1,000 fine. Kansas already requires county jails to house inmates according to sex assigned at birth.”

As someone that worked on 1Password for almost two decades and used to be a big Safari fan, this has bummed me out for a long time. Sadly the way that Apple makes extension makers jump through hoops has made it much harder to make a reliable and performant extension than almost any other browser.

Gonna need a larger banner soon 😳

A black fabric banner hanging on a wall with a huge assortment of enamel pins on it. Most of the pins are some kind of nerd related thing. Either old school Apple nerdery, comic book related, UI design related, or original artwork from various artists. The banner is about nine-tenths full and is quickly running out of room.

My sweet Fiona is just the smooshiest of smooshies. How can you resist this face? 🥰

A French bulldog curled up in the crook of my arm with her face completely smooshed so much that her face just looks completely ridiculous

For those on the iOS 26 beta and that are frustrated by how blurry a lot of the new icons look, setting the icons to always use the dark versions helps with that significantly.

A screenshot of my homescreen in edit mode showing the setting for icon styles. It shows the option to always show icons in dark mode even when the phone is in light mode.

We got these lovely flowers with a note, but no name of the sender! Anyone in here by chance send them? It’s always a bit awkward asking around to specific people.
