i struggle with a brain that wants to stiffly copy whatever reference i'm using and one thing i've found helpful:
1. draw big blocky shapes over the reference
2. turn off ref and redraw big blocky shapes
3. draw in figure with big blocky shapes overlaid
Traducir post

photo of model posing as an elegant elf woman that ive blocked out with a chunky red brush

in a separate window ive redrawn the red blocks, then have drawn details over the red blocks, using the photo+red transparency as reference

final doodle of the figure drawing without the red blocking

12. An OC you've killed I have more, but this is Sophie (she/her) she is the ex-girlfriend of another OC of mine, and she died in his arms,,, Her death is actually really meaningful in a lot of characters development, it wasn't just because, but it's too much lore to be written here #ocart #oc

Drawing of my oc Sophie, she has curly brown hair made into a braid, hazelnut eyes, and light-brown skin. She was flower-shaped wearing and is wearing an orange turtle-neck sweater and light-blue overalls.

Illustration of my oc Sophie, in her chest a necklace with a red crystal can be seen. She is smiling and her arms are extended forward as if she is holding the person "behind the camera" she is in the middle of a wheat field and the sun is shinning behind her

Illustration of my oc Sophie from the back, she is smiling while running across a wheat field

11. Would you consider yourself nice to your OCs? No, next question. Ok but like,,, I have friends who do a lot worse, at least like 99% of my OC's stories have an actual good ending. I'M NOT A BAD PARENT TO MY OC'S I SWEAR

03. Favorite OC OKAY this is hard to choose buttt of rn I think the oc that consumes most of my creative brain its this silly cyborgish mad scientist guy!! His name is Dr. Screks (he/him) and he's a vampire, tiefling and cyborg hybrid :) #oc #ocart #ocsky #madscientist #characterdesign

Front and back design of a character wearing a long white lab coat, his right arm, left leg and leg side of the face are all mechanic prosthetics and he has pointy ears, teeth and horns one of which is broken

Front and back design of the same character but with his back exposed, revealing an mechanic exoskeleton all cross his back

10. Villan OC's Okay I actually have lots of villan OCs but I haven't draw them yet so I only have picrews,, On a brighter note I do have him! He was technically the villan of the first #dnd campaign I ran and is still considered a force of evil in the universe! (even tho he dgaf) #ocart #dndart

Illustration of a dark creature with two pairs of arms and horns, very long hair pulled back with a menacing grin. The figure is all in black monotones (except the iremis wich is red) and the background is a circular red pattern

09. Weirdest OC I never finished this drawing of it but this is SCP-7937, a character I created for an SPC foundation inspired campaign a friend was gonna run for us but never did It's thing is that it can transform in whoever he drinks blood from, it's sort of a shape-shifter #oc #ocart #scpoc

Illustration of a red creature standing in a bathroom full of blood, it's supposed to look like a lantern is being shinning of its direction but the drawing is unfinished

08. Fav OC ship Can't choose between these two couples,,,,, I love both and they are my fav for different reasons soooo yeah! The first couple is Joel (horned one) and Jake 💚💛 The second is Leo and Arlo 💙💜 he/him for all :) #oc #occouple #ocart #dnd #dndart

Monocrome drawing of my ocs Joel and Jake, Joel is behind Jake and they're holding hand, Jake hands are crossed across his chest and he is smilling, Joel's tail is wrapped around jake

Monocrome drawing of my ocs Jake and Joel, Jake is holding Joel's arms with his other hand on his waist, it looks like Jake is whispering smtg funny to Joel who is smilling/laughing, Joel's tail is wrapped around Jake

Monocrome drawing of my ocs Leo and Arlo holding hands with Leo kissing Arlo's cheek, the drawing has a wintery vibe

Monochrome drawing of two boys sleeping, they are my ocs Leo and Arlo

The best editors will: 1) Aim to achieve the vision you had in mind 2) Be honest about what needs improving to achieve that vision, but will explain why without being antagonistic 3) Not try to impose their own style on the work 4) Be willing to negotiate on details 5) ACTUALLY READ YOUR STORY

Skallagrímr, old artfight during one of my big deep art-depression eras, I thought it was so bad I only showed it to the person it belongs to: @micahseacole.bsky.social but I've come around... a bit :) I absolutely adore this guy and his design 💙 (A bit nervous to finally share it in the open) #art

Skallagrímr, from Micah Seacole's original species "Stormerki", a dragon/reptile human hybrid: he has black scales covering big parts of his shoulders, neck and almost all of his face, with the human skin peeking below, has big pointy ears and horns all black, dark blue hier tied in a bun and black sclera and beautiful light blue eyes

I love lettering, so I let myself breathe a little making the text for this badge. Feels good to do hand lettering again! Text is shining, sharp, colorful- reads “JAX” and below: “she/her”

Thank you for hosting!!💜❤️ Here are my kids and my fav ship from bg3 XD

A reference sheet of a drow (a dark elf with purple skin and white hair) character, standing back to us, holding his long sword in his right hand. His head is partially turned to our side. He has a fluffy bangs and a large, high tail. His cloak, in the shape of a bat's wing, partially covers his back and is attached to his shoulders by straps that hold his shoulder pads to his armor
At the bottom right of the drawing is a stat block. He's a Battlemaster fighter, in essence, but he's also begun secretly studying cleric magic under the protectorate of Eilistraee, the goddess and daughter of Lolth. The reason why he will become a drider in the future. And the reason why his wisdom is 8 for now XD

The deep night in the forest, where the only sources of light are a warm campfire in the lower left corner of the picture and a cool blue night sky in the background. Two people are having a good time near the fire. The girl, named Ruby, is leaning her thighs against her partner's chest. She has short red disheveled hair, round glasses, horns, a demon-like tail and is wearing only her green underwear and dark brown tockings (I couldn't resist the urge to add them lmao). She looks at her partner from top to bottom.
Her partner, Kar'niss (bg3 npc character), is holding her waist and thighs with his hands. He has long white hair, chitin armor all over his body, and 5 extra eyes on the left side of his head. Also, his underpart is like Centaurus, but spider (you can't see it on this picture but it’s somewhere there XD)

Kar'niss x Ruby
Ruby is my bg3 tiefling (human-like creatures but with horns and demon tail) main character from bg3 with short red hair and red skin. She wears big round glasses 👀
Kar'niss is the drider from bg3. Driders are like centaurs but with a spider lower part. He has long white wavy hair, seven black eyes with yellow irises. Two of them are placed as normal and the five extra ones are placed around his left eye. His body is armored with chitin, except for his belly and head. He has eight legs and pedipalps.
In this picture, Ruby is sitting on Kar'niss' pedipalps and looking at him like "😏".
He holds her waist and puts his right hand on her cheek, grabbing her elf-like ear a little. Ruby puts her hands on his chest and tucks her legs under her a little. She's almost naked here, just in her underwear, but here's no nsfw content

Kairai
My dnd drow fighter who left Menzoberranzan because of reasons ∠( ᐛ 」∠)＿
Drow are dark elves with purple skin of different shades and depth. They mostly have white hair and red eyes. They live in the Underdark (the world beneath the surface, like a large large caves) in different cities. One of the most famous of them is Menzoberranzan. They worship to Lolth (spider queen), a chaotic evil deity and they are literally one of the most evil races in dnd.
Here is her reference sheet, where she is in her canon (after leaving) look. She wears a big black hat, drow armour and a large purple cloak

Illustration of an Inuit girl wearing a very dense fur coat holding a lantern and pointing it towards the entrance of some sort of cave, by her side it's a ghostly wolf also wearing a fur coat with some packs on the sides, inside the ghostly wolf we can see the skeleton of the wolf

Illustration of an humanoid figure stripped of her skin, with her raw muscles exposed, wearing a plate armor and horned helmet make of bones. Three pairs of mannequin arms behind her in various poses, while an amalgamation of shadowy hands reach in the direction of her head
