i struggle with a brain that wants to stiffly copy whatever reference i'm using and one thing i've found helpful:
1. draw big blocky shapes over the reference
2. turn off ref and redraw big blocky shapes
3. draw in figure with big blocky shapes overlaid
Traducir post

photo of model posing as an elegant elf woman that ive blocked out with a chunky red brush

in a separate window ive redrawn the red blocks, then have drawn details over the red blocks, using the photo+red transparency as reference

03. Favorite OC OKAY this is hard to choose buttt of rn I think the oc that consumes most of my creative brain its this silly cyborgish mad scientist guy!! His name is Dr. Screks (he/him) and he's a vampire, tiefling and cyborg hybrid :) #oc #ocart #ocsky #madscientist #characterdesign

Front and back design of a character wearing a long white lab coat, his right arm, left leg and leg side of the face are all mechanic prosthetics and he has pointy ears, teeth and horns one of which is broken

Front and back design of the same character but with his back exposed, revealing an mechanic exoskeleton all cross his back

The best editors will: 1) Aim to achieve the vision you had in mind 2) Be honest about what needs improving to achieve that vision, but will explain why without being antagonistic 3) Not try to impose their own style on the work 4) Be willing to negotiate on details 5) ACTUALLY READ YOUR STORY

Skallagrímr, old artfight during one of my big deep art-depression eras, I thought it was so bad I only showed it to the person it belongs to: @micahseacole.bsky.social but I've come around... a bit :) I absolutely adore this guy and his design 💙 (A bit nervous to finally share it in the open) #art

Skallagrímr, from Micah Seacole's original species "Stormerki", a dragon/reptile human hybrid: he has black scales covering big parts of his shoulders, neck and almost all of his face, with the human skin peeking below, has big pointy ears and horns all black, dark blue hier tied in a bun and black sclera and beautiful light blue eyes

Thank you for hosting!!💜❤️ Here are my kids and my fav ship from bg3 XD

A reference sheet of a drow (a dark elf with purple skin and white hair) character, standing back to us, holding his long sword in his right hand. His head is partially turned to our side. He has a fluffy bangs and a large, high tail. His cloak, in the shape of a bat's wing, partially covers his back and is attached to his shoulders by straps that hold his shoulder pads to his armor
At the bottom right of the drawing is a stat block. He's a Battlemaster fighter, in essence, but he's also begun secretly studying cleric magic under the protectorate of Eilistraee, the goddess and daughter of Lolth. The reason why he will become a drider in the future. And the reason why his wisdom is 8 for now XD

The deep night in the forest, where the only sources of light are a warm campfire in the lower left corner of the picture and a cool blue night sky in the background. Two people are having a good time near the fire. The girl, named Ruby, is leaning her thighs against her partner's chest. She has short red disheveled hair, round glasses, horns, a demon-like tail and is wearing only her green underwear and dark brown tockings (I couldn't resist the urge to add them lmao). She looks at her partner from top to bottom.
Her partner, Kar'niss (bg3 npc character), is holding her waist and thighs with his hands. He has long white hair, chitin armor all over his body, and 5 extra eyes on the left side of his head. Also, his underpart is like Centaurus, but spider (you can't see it on this picture but it’s somewhere there XD)

Kar'niss x Ruby
Ruby is my bg3 tiefling (human-like creatures but with horns and demon tail) main character from bg3 with short red hair and red skin. She wears big round glasses 👀
Kar'niss is the drider from bg3. Driders are like centaurs but with a spider lower part. He has long white wavy hair, seven black eyes with yellow irises. Two of them are placed as normal and the five extra ones are placed around his left eye. His body is armored with chitin, except for his belly and head. He has eight legs and pedipalps.
In this picture, Ruby is sitting on Kar'niss' pedipalps and looking at him like "😏".
He holds her waist and puts his right hand on her cheek, grabbing her elf-like ear a little. Ruby puts her hands on his chest and tucks her legs under her a little. She's almost naked here, just in her underwear, but here's no nsfw content

Kairai
My dnd drow fighter who left Menzoberranzan because of reasons ∠( ᐛ 」∠)＿
Drow are dark elves with purple skin of different shades and depth. They mostly have white hair and red eyes. They live in the Underdark (the world beneath the surface, like a large large caves) in different cities. One of the most famous of them is Menzoberranzan. They worship to Lolth (spider queen), a chaotic evil deity and they are literally one of the most evil races in dnd.
Here is her reference sheet, where she is in her canon (after leaving) look. She wears a big black hat, drow armour and a large purple cloak

hiii! i’m ash, a trans man hobby artist focused mainly on my ttrpg ocs! i love d&d, and i love my friends, and i love drawing pretty men, and that’s basically what’s happening here. welcome! #oc #ocart #ocartist #art #ocsky #d&d #dnd #dndart

portrait drawing of my original character, a shadar kai vampire cleric named sterling. he has long black wavy hair with a few tendrils falling over his face. light purple skin with several face moles. his eyes are red ringed with dark purple and the whites have grayed. he’s wearing a priest outfit with gold trim and blood stained on the white collar. he has three eyes tattooed on his throat, the middle and largest one has a yellow orange glowing star in the middle. his hand is crossed over his chest and pointing with his pointer finger, which is glowing with that same color. on the back of his hand there is a silver alchemical symbol in the shape of the crescent moon tattooed. there’s a dark smokey mist in front of him that wraps up the side of the frame. the background is ominous purple towers and the sun blocked out by mist and clouds.

portrait art sketch of an original dungeons and dragons character named solemn. he is a changeling, light gray skin with hints of pink. his hand rests lightly on his jawline and he’s looking forward with pink lilac eyes. his hair is long and straight, white with a streak of black. his eyebrows are black with a streak of white. the background is pink with splashes of red. solemn is part of a secret organization of changelings, and he’s been stationed to replace prince sebastian of edgemar, who is notoriously an awful person.

portrait of an original character named frankie. he has short shaggy sandy blonde hair, green blue eyes, and is smirking while looking forward. he’s wearing a red t shirt over a yellow backdrop. there is a red and hello white my name is sticker with frankie and a winky face in yellow writing. in the lower left corner there’s a drawing of frankie flexing wearing a red cut off shirt and a shark tattoo that looks like it’s swimming on his bicep

portrait of two original dungeons and dragons characters. one is shadar kai necromancy wizard named donovan, the other is an elven person named mal. donovan has light gray skin short black hair, and a piercing on his right upper ear. he’s wearing a red knit sweater with a white collar peeking out. mal is wearing a gray and red shirt, they are light skinned with long straight black hair and a scar going down their cheek. they’re sharing their first kiss together in a dingy little cowboy bar, the backdrop is green and brown with a shelf full of liquor bottles in the back.

rendered drawing of a dungeons and dragons character named sterling, a purple skinned shadar kai, on strahds lap. sterling has long black hair that waves dramatically behind his back and he’s wearing a red crown and a red ribbon around his neck. he has a forked tail that wraps around strahds arm. strahd has dark brown hair with a braid that sterling holds in his hand and is tied with a matching red bow.

Ah yes, the God of Time (right) and their pet mortal (left) /hj NOT a ship or couple btw they're best friends! These are my oc's Nero Yazanami (he/him) and Cronos (they/any) hihi 💙 Lil extra info on alt text after the description :) #ocsky #oc #dndoc #dndcharacter #tiefling #ttrpgoc

Drawing of a dark tiefling with long white hair made into a ponytail, with scales across his face and shoulders wearing a short white cloak and magical bracers hugging a light skinned person with long pointy ears, long loose blue hair and blue eyes and wearing a long purple cloak. Both are blushing a bit and seem happy

Extra info:

Nero is very touchy and physically affectionate with people because that's part of the culture of the village he grew up in!

To think that at the start Cronos was extremely reluctant and closed off because of how many times they had seen humanity fail only to be annoyed into acceptance and recover their hope due to a certain blue blooded tiefling

More on the physical contact thing:

For Nero, and most people from his village, physical touch is the prime way of showing their connection and affection to someone else, they are very open in regards to all kinda of (non sexual in any way) physical touch, hugs, hands shakes, bumps, cuddles these all are very trivialized among the people from his village and things like gender do not come into play in this at all not is touch associated in any way with romance or smtg along those lines.

In campaign I can say for sure he's the character that has the most physical interactions out of everyone, shaking people when confused about smtg, warping his tail around his party members when they're close, hugging, hand holding with everyone on the party, for Nero physical touch is THE way to show his party and friends that he cares for them deeply, and the amount of physical touch he initiates with someone is directly connected to how close their bond is!

Dunno if I explained this well buttt yeah! That's all!
