OpenAI's claim that this is a central conjecture in discrete geometry is not an exaggeration. This will I think be looked back on as the first time that AI solved a major mathematics problem (defined as a problem that all experts in some subfield had thought about). openai.com/index/model-...

Efficient thermalization and universal quantum computing with quantum Gibbs samplers - Nature Physics
Quantum simulation of equilibrium many-body systems requires the ability to sample from the thermal distribution of quantum states. An algorithm has now been proven to be an appropriate quantum analog...

Quantum metrology in the finite-sample regime journals.aps.org/prxquantum/a... We propose an operational framework of #quantummetrology in the practically meaningful regime of a few measurement samples, introducing probably approximately correct (#PAC) metrology.

If you are going to QIP this year, make sure to attend all the tutorials! The line-up of speakers looks fantastic! And I know that Cambyse is cooking something great for his tutorial, this will be a unique opportunity to learn about the exciting field of quantum Gibbs sampling!

Many Brazilian restaurants offer so-called “trivial dishes” on their menus. But you have to be careful when ordering them: the cooking is often left as exercise to the patron.
