Yesterday, I spent maybe 45 minutes scrubbing through an MCR song so I could prepare a lead sheet for my cover band. Today, I am getting constant ads for various music training services like Yousician and Ultimate Guitar. These algorithms are absolutely insane. Net neutrality needs to return

As a person who passively enjoys Deftones, I’m educating myself and listening through their discography over the next day or two. Glad they were able to survive past Adrenaline lmao. The guitar tone sounds like they plugged the head into a PA speaker and mic’d it up in a shower stall.

I finally got myself (mostly) off Facebook and will be dropping my random funnies and death metalling here

FINALLY beat Promised Consort Radhan the other day. Even after getting nerfed (as he should have been—some of those attacks were straight up impossible to counter), he’s still a top 2 hardest boss I’ve ever dealt with. Malenia still might surpass him in difficulty, but they’re very VERY close.

Me: *visits any general guitar themed group/subreddit/page* Literally every post: "New guitar day!" *it's the most generic strat or strat clone you've ever seen* Everyone in the comments: "GORGEOUS. NEVER SEEN ANYTHING SO STUNNING. THERE WILL NEVER BE ANOTHER GUITAR."

Elon Musk is out here doing all the things conservatives accused George Soros of doing for decades, and he’s heiling Hitler too! Love this. Love that they’re not even trying to be subtle anymore. Love how easy this makes it for me to cut out the people who aren’t horrified by what they’re seeing.

Meshuggah and Animals as Leaders are probably the two most influential bands on the metal of the last ~20 years. Am I forgetting any other huge ones?

2025 will probably not be the year local metal dudes stop taking themselves so fucking seriously, but damn I sure with it were

BlueSky explicitly stating they won’t suppress links is already a huge win for artists of all kinds. Virtually every other platform suppresses everyone and everything unless you give them money. Looking forward to what could be many years of fun with #MetalSky #DeathMetalSky #ProgMetalSky

Anybody interested in a sadboi dream theater cover? I released one with my solo project earlier this year. Check it out! #MetalSky #ProgMetalSky #ProgressiveMetalSky #DreamTheater

Practicing a little more of Solus by First Fragment. This song is INSANELY difficult to play, but I’m having a blast learning it. Currently at 90% speed. Still have some cleaning up to do, but it’ll get there soon. 😁 #MetalSky #DeathMetalSky #Bass #FirstFragment #BassPlayer #Bassist #BassSky

Haven’t shared my band Ice Giant yet here! We are a symphonic melodeath band from Boston, MA. Our debut album came out last September. Check out my bass playthrough of one of my faves youtu.be/J2-g_GyIM68?... #DeathMetalSky #MetalSky

Any fans of First Fragment here on #MetalSky #DeathMetalSky ? Currently attempting to transcribe Solus by ear and man it is HARD as hell haha Only at 75% speed currently and even this gave me a huge blister. Haven’t had to do this much tapping since learning Beyond Creation lines a decade ago

The starter pack thing is probably my favorite part of BlueSky so far. With two or three button taps I all of a sudden have access to almost 500 people with interest in both death metal and Wheel of Time (aka my two personality traits).

Crazy that today is the 3-year anniversary of #TheWheelOfTime on Amazon. These books have been about 40% of my personality (the remaining parts being 40% bass and 20% stress about gigs and projects), and the show is a nonstop focus of mine. Season 3 announcement may be imminent, hype! #WoTskies

We have a show coming up on Sunday 12/22 at the brand new Koto location in Lowell, MA. This will be AM’s third show ever and our first with a complete lineup. Roll through and support a new venue!

Linkin Park is in my all-time top 3 bands. When I was 9yo, I first heard One Step Closer on Guitar Hero for the Nintendo DS (yes, you read that right) and fell in love immediately. I rationed out a $15 iTunes gift card over several months, buying single songs at a time from Hybrid Theory

“This new Linkin Park album sounds nothing like Linkin Park!” - somebody who has never listened to Minutes to Midnight or The Hunting Party
