Calocedrus decurrens

Calocedrus decurrens, common name California incense cedar, is a species of coniferous tree in the cypress family, Cupressaceae, native to western North America. Doing its thing today. Looking very similar to red cedar foliage, but with tiny yellow pollen cones ?,(small, golden rectangular lantern shaped tips on the end of the branches). In contrast to the deep green and reddish foliage 🌿☮️

Spotted a spotted sandpiper down along the banks of the Willamette river this morning. It’s going through things that have floated up on the rocks on the bank under a clear sky that’s reflecting light blue off of the water 🌿☮️

3 part heart

There are three separate rocks that have been shaped and polished to make up the ‘heart’ that is held together by the base. It was crafted and assembled by my very good friend John in Seattle. Behind it are pieces of polished glass and some sedum growing in a small planter with a tangerine on the side 💛🧡💛

nodding beggarticks ?

Really not sure if these are nodding beggarticks, but the fon suggests they are. Looking like tiny golden sunflowers. Only a few inches tall and the yellow blooms are barely an inch across. I spotted them growing down by the river today 🌿☮️
