Excited to leave town for a few days and celebrate my brother & nieces birthdays! She wants sushi which we will be Friday night & he wants to hit a brewery which will happen on Saturday. In the downtime I have concocted a playlist to rock some socks off. Good times ahoy!

The Beach Boys -Sunflower. It is the best group album they did where EVERYONE'S talent shines. It was produced fantastically by Stephen Desper & just always makes me feel pleased to hear it whenever it plays.

I might need to give this one another chance. I thought it sounded like more of the same by him but just no where near as good. Music can be funny sometimes if you are in the incorrect mood to be open towards something.

Rufus Wainwright is a jaw dropping talent which only reached mid-range popularity. Anytime I hear him or see him he's amazing. Here's his most recent collaboration with Susanna Hoffs youtu.be/jGT1crXY3bY?...

The Smile sessions by the Beach Boys. It was highly creative & broke all sorts of music rules especially by the band which was doing them. Before an official release I collected and edited together the pieces and parts to make it a whole, thus making me feel a part of it all. Mind expanding joy

You can count on America to America. A man died in a terrible rollercoaster disaster in Atlanta at Six Flags and people are fat shaming in the comments section. The guy in question looks husky but NOT obese to any level. A regular slightly bigger aging American. We need to be better & kinder.

I can't sleep & Bread is playing in the background singing "Dreams, they're for those who sleep Life is for us to keep And if you're wondering what this all is leading to" Yeah...you know the song just like I did and damn if it isn't catchy all these years later. I will let you sing the rest.....

Sometimes the hippies got it right sentiment-wise & no such better truth is "We Gotta All Get Together" by Paul Revere and the Raiders. This world is messed up but even with differences, man we got to figure this the hell out. Will we? Sooner or later. youtu.be/bPuHDMCe9kE?...

I absolutely loved Duncan Sheik's first album, it was great in so many ways. When his second came out, I found myself somehow disappointed but as time moved on and on my appreciation for Humming grew & grew. On some levels these days I might actually prefer it over his first album! It's truly great.

I find myself conflicted - see I know what I'd want for an ultimate show but would people come and see it? The Beach Boys circa 1972, The White Stripes, Jimi Hendrix, The Doors & Harry Nilsson (because he refused to perform live). Another 5 -Childish Gambino, LOVE, Elliott Smith, Otis Redding, JT

Truth and Soul by the band Fishbone. Released in 1988 in September, i can safely say there are few things like this album. A great record from a very talented band. An absolute undiscovered masterpiece.

Sometimes you just have to give music you bought time to marinate. When I initially listened to the Counting Crows Butter Miracle complete sessions I was fairly BLAH about it. These last few days the songs have began to slink into my mind & I've been grooving to the tunes.

This aimed me towards an herbalist who has made major in-roads on my issues. I keep on hunting down the why of it all. I am one of those people who is heavy for zero reason other than my body has failed in working the proper way. It's frustrating. Doctor's don't help ...but I always remain hopeful.

I have ironically calmed that down since becoming part owner of a brewery but the stomach issues persist.Cont-

Rufus Wainwright never disappoints. When he was younger I would always go and see him with a full band and it was fantastic. Lately , he just goes out with his Steinway & guitar and plays solo, which is ALSO absolutely wonderful. I do miss the full band shows tho & hope we does one soon again.

Browns win and now are 2-1. After how the season began I couldn't have imagined that to be a reality. Watson wasn't great but he made some big plays down the stretch &.... BOTTOM line...we won! Hell, I will take it.

The first song which comes to my mind is Harry Chapin's "Cats in The Cradle". I don't own the song on any media because of the elements of sadness. If we are rolling towards something less dark but emotional a favorite is the Beach Boys Warmth of The Sun. Phil Ochs "Cross My Heart" is also great.

And by "Stay with Watson" I mean like 10 weeks. Even if I felt he was playing great, the track record shows he won't last. Maybe I've become faithless or jaded. Or maybe I still just don't like the dude.

The Cleveland sports media is funny. One guy has been about as anti-Watson (Deshaun, not newly signed Cavalier Peyton)& today he came & said he thinks they should stay with Deshaun. The man admittedly had a solid game last Sunday but it was ONE game. I know at some stage he'll get hurt. No thanks.

Forever Changes by Love. It wasn't considered a huge success or a landmark album when it was released but historically is considered one. Nothing honestly like it. I still get mad that Arthur Lee let Jimi Hendrix influence him too much & change the kind of music Love the band was making.

Funny you say the Moody Blues because I had always really adored them & the last two years I've just been kind of BLAH when I hear them. I recently put on "To Our Children's Children " & it brought back that love of their music. Another choice is Gorkys Zygotic Mynci -Sleep/Holiday .

Anytime I listen to Rufus Wainwrights "Poses" I am instantly transported to 2001. Life for me wasn't in the best of spots in that era but that WAS the year I met my now wife. Listening to Rufus's lyrics, I think he was also trying to find himself In his later twenties. Life is like that.

I know in certain parts of the United States in 1966, God Only Knows by the Beach Boys wasn't allowed to be played. The use of God in music in some southern religious towns was frowned upon.
