I think this is very incorrect. There will never be a day where the broad left ends up on the same side as big tech again. The only way anyone left of center ends up with AI is if OpenAI and Anthropic die and get replaced with smaller scale. I doubt the big ai firms last past 2030 anyway

used to be college football was full of wildly different offensive and defensive strategies and there was genuine fun in seeing the style clash while the nfl was 32 teams all running bill walsh shit. Now the nfl does fun stuff and every college runs the same offense so they can facilitate transfer

I did not enjoy the studies in college, but my job (real estate appraiser) would have been way harder to start making any money at if I hadn’t gotten that degree. My recommendation to anyone is just get one.

Also and this just hit me, song writers pretty much work off commission. They only make money if the song’s a hit. That’s far better for the record labels than paying subscription fees for AI that they have to pay for regardless of whether the song hits or not.

I would feel more comfortable with AI music having a chance if not for the Blurred Lines precedent that case set. The stuff they got got for was so insanely generic that I don’t think any major publisher is going to risk using AI and they’ll just stick with their chained up nordics.

Nah, it’s not copyrightable or trademarkable. It’s much easier to hire a Swede to pump out formulaic music and not deal with the legal headache of being sued by the estate of whoever the ai stole from.
