We report 0.9% VTE within 90 days of hospital led acute ambulatory care attendance; similar to traditional medical inpatient care without thromprophylaxis. Further VTE research needed in this rapidly expanding area of medicine#VTE#SDEC @danlasserson.bsky.social www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti...

Should patients seen in #SDEC #AmbulatoryCare receive #VTE prophylaxis? Our data #WarwickMedSchool @susie-shapiro.bsky.social show VTE rate in SDEC as high as hospitalised patients. Ability to ambulate does NOT equal reduced VTE risk. @ukhahsoc.bsky.social www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti...

And that's a wrap on @adamgordon1978.bsky.social's presidency at @gerisoc.bsky.social as he hands the chain of office to @jkdhesi.bsky.social. #BGSconf
Professor Adam Gordon places the chain of office over Professor Jugdeep Dhesi's head.

Changing care pathways with #HospitalAtHome @arc-wm.bsky.social Acute Care Interfaces theme has researched alternatives to acute hospital admissions. With Hospital at Home, patients are treated as though admitted to hospital, but within their home www.arc-wm.nihr.ac.uk/impact-chang... 👉 #ARCimpacts

Let's move away from the "shock is sepsis until proven otherwise" now that we have plenty of quick (ahem, POCUS) ways to narrow the differential.
