Not sure when this happened, but the Wikipedia app now rocks! It gives you a daily/discovery selection of articles in your languages of choice, and it has a map feature that is useful for spotting cool places when traveling

It looks like indie games are off to a great start this year too!

I think we ended up with a rather good looking game, and people were having a blast arguing about directions and clearing the levels together
Screenshot of the final level. More complex than the previous picture. There are lots of floating platformsSome friends playing our game. There are two people playing wearing the goggles

Then we thought of a co-op puzzle game in which each player only has partial information for solving the level
Screenshot of the game featuring 2 players in 3d space. They have to follow a path made of light blue and yellow tiles

Using old school 3D glasses, we made our custom visors, that mask either light blue or yellow. Getting the effect right was a lot of trial and error
The special goggles we made for the game, made from cardboard 3D glasses. We swapped the filters to make them only red or blue

As I feared, Liquid Glass comes with inconsistent UI. It’s still using the old keyboard for apps that didn’t update it I guess

I also took the chance to buy a good mouse for cheap while in Shenzhen. This has a led screen where I can display 1-bit art!

This was in Shenzhen too: the construction cabins featured a stacking modular design and glass panel windows. Note how they can be joined horizontally to make meeting rooms and vertically to make staircases

We took this super long bridge-underwater tunnel from Hong Kong to Macao 😮
Overview of the bridge. The bridge is very long, but not too tall, so it goes under water to make way for ships to get into the bay

Huaqiangbei street in Shenzhen is the electronics hub of the city. There’s a museum explaining the history of their industry, and hundreds if not thousands of small electronics shops, many of them are wholesale

Urban planning exhibition about the city of Shenzhen. It was cool to see how they’ve build it from the ground up in a few decades, making sort of a prototype model for other new city developments. People’s first approach with use of vertical and subterranean spaces, and lots of green areas

With public toilets, aside from the data screens that you’ve probably seen on TikTok, now they’re going beyond with the design. Like this one in a park that blends in almost completely
This public toilet has a wavy mirror design, making it appear almost invisible, but to make sure you can spot it, it has a bright colored tower where the faucets are placed

Not too impressive, but I saw this in museums and old buildings, also in my last trip in 2023. It’s just a big, vertical screen with a Kinect, you could make arm gestures to change outfits, and had a QR code to download the picture
