Anand is the best (and I'm doing an event with him at, yes, @cityartssf.bsky.social Thursday, for his new book Man in the Mirror). Couldn't agree more that cities are refuges or places of last resort for people kicked out of rural/suburban/pseudo-idyllic America.

See also Tim Scott’s recent Schooling for Silicon Valley. Which I expect is less journalistic, more academic, and let’s say…less tolerant. One reviewer describes it as appropriately scathing.

CNN's Dana Bash had a 12 minute interview with Secretary of Education Linda McMahon and didn't ask her a single question about attempts to shut down the Department or about the nearly $2 trillion portfolio of student loans she oversees. Corporate media is part of the problem.

So true! And really quite close to the truth if you consider that all human labor comes from literally burning organic matter. It’s all about breaking those carbon bonds, whether they exist in fossil fuels or in food!

Excuse me but this is not right. Loggers worked for paper companies and large family-landowners in the north woods because it was one of the very few options they had, especially after farming in New England became untenable in the late 19th century as the midwest opened up.

Surely there is some form of accommodation that could work for your situation, which I believe is pretty much the case for all physical disabilities. But how his suggestion is “ elitist” is really beyond me. Unless there’s some class basis for tendinitis that alludes Me?
