If you’re running for office at any level and want my vote, start talking about action you will take to protect and expand voting rights, voting access…our democracy! I care about many other policies but none of those happen if the votes of our neighbors are blocked and our democracy dies.

Sexual harassment is about power and control. Eric Swalwell abused power. This disqualifies him from a position of power. Whispers, rumors, delayed allegations that are ignored, dismissed, or refuted as lies or conspiracy is how abuse of power succeeds. Don’t be complicit.

My entire feed that’s usually nastiness and nonsense is now filled with pics of communities coming together to participate in No Kings — people engaging in civic life and standing up to a wannabe king, literally what our country was founded on. Almost like that’s the point🤔

Two great films about The Washington Post and the role of journalism are 2017’s “The Post” and, of course, “All the President’s Men” but if you want to see a terrifying (and exceptionally well made) film about media, see “Network” Made in 1976 and fiction, this film lays out how we got here.

I remember reading, rereading, then reading out loud “Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead”. Witty, clever, lyrical, rhythmic, of “Hamlet” but totally original to Hamlet. A testament to Shakespeare, yes — and the brilliance of Tom Stoppard. RIP.

The biggest problem with politics is all the predictions and takes filling our feeds—like it’s sports. We’re hiring a candidate to work for us for four years. No matter if the election is won with a mandate or by a handful of votes, the winner works for us. That’s what matters.
